Washington, DC Betting Sites, Apps & Guide

by The OddsCrowd Analysts

For four years DC had one citywide betting app, the Lottery's GambetDC, and few people liked it. FanDuel replaced it in April 2024, and a budget passed that July let the city's pro teams bring in their own sportsbook partners. Six apps are now live across the District, and most of them take players from age 18.

Below is our list of the best DC apps, with the team or agency behind each sportsbook. Then come the rules on age, college betting and federal land, how the District taxes winnings, and the questions we get most.

Offers checked November 4, 2026. Terms apply to every offer, so read them on the operator's site before you sign up.

Washington, DC app reviews

There is a card below for every app on the list, with the offer we checked, what it does best and how it works in the District.

1. FanDuel

FanDuel is the DC Lottery's own sportsbook. It took over from GambetDC on April 15, 2024, the first big change in a market that had been stuck with one weak app for four years.

The app is fast, and building a same game parlay on a Capitals or Commanders game takes a few taps.

Read our full FanDuel review, or claim the offer here.

2. DraftKings

DraftKings came to DC in July 2024 through a partnership with D.C. United, one of the first deals under the new team licenses.

It is strong on daily odds boosts, and every bet counts toward Dynasty Rewards.

Read our full DraftKings review, or claim the offer here.

3. BetMGM

BetMGM is the Washington Nationals' partner. It started with a sportsbook at Nationals Park and went citywide on July 17, 2024; the ballpark sportsbook closed in September 2025, but the app is still live.

Bets earn BetMGM Rewards points tied to MGM Resorts and Marriott Bonvoy. Note that BetMGM requires you to be 21 in DC.

Read our full BetMGM review, or claim the offer here.

4. Fanatics

Fanatics entered DC on September 12, 2024 through the Washington Spirit, its first team deal in women's sports.

Every bet earns FanCash, which you can turn into bonus bets or spend on jerseys and gear.

Read our full Fanatics review, or claim the offer here.

5. bet365

bet365 is the newest book in DC. It launched on September 8, 2026 with a partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment, so it is now an official betting partner of the Capitals, Wizards and Mystics, and it sponsors the live odds feature on Monumental's game streams.

Its Early Payout Offer settles qualifying NBA bets as winners once your team leads by 20, and NHL bets at a three-goal lead.

Read our full bet365 review, or claim the offer here.

6. Sleeper

Sleeper runs season-long fantasy leagues and real-money Player Picks in the same app, so your picks sit next to the league chat. In DC, Sleeper's own support page lists real-money picks on iPhone only, not Android, and the minimum age is 18.

Read our full Sleeper review, or claim the offer here.

7. Dabble

Dabble builds pick'em around a social feed: you can make an entry public, copy someone else's in one tap and chat in a live room during the game. In DC, Dabble runs its house-style game, where your picks play against Dabble's lines instead of other players. You can sign up at 18.

Read our full Dabble review, or claim the offer here.

8. Chalkboard

Chalkboard is pick'em built for group chats, with picks and scores posted to a shared Board. DC players get its peer-to-peer Showdowns and Pulls from 18, and the District has no fantasy sports law either way, and its sports betting law leaves team-based fantasy contests out of its definition of sports wagering.

Read our full Chalkboard review, or claim the offer here.

9. Underdog

Underdog keeps Best Ball drafts, pick'em and Rips card packs in one account with sports prediction markets on its own CFTC-regulated exchange. In DC every Underdog mode is open, including college pick'em and college drafts, and the minimum age is 18.

Trading involves risk, including total loss on positions

Read our full Underdog review, or claim the offer here.

10. Kalshi

Kalshi lists Yes and No contracts on sports, rates, weather and politics, with no vig and limit orders at your own price. Kalshi accepts traders from 18, the same age the District sets for its sportsbooks.

Read our full Kalshi review, or claim the offer here.

11. Polymarket US

Polymarket US is a CFTC-regulated market covering sports, politics, economics, crypto and culture. Filled limit orders earn a rebate, and debit and bank deposits give instant buying power. DC's Office of Lottery and Gaming had not acted against it as of November 2026, and traders must be 18.

18+ Only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Not available in all jurisdictions. Trading is risky. 100% loss can occur. See polymarket.com/tos for more information. The Polymarket US App serves as an independent software provider and affiliate of Polymarket US and Polymarket Clearing, the CFTC-regulated exchange and clearing organization.

Read our full Polymarket US review, or claim the offer here.

12. Novig

Novig is a sports-only exchange where you buy and sell contracts with other traders. Pregame straight trades carry no commission, and you can trade in-game too. Novig lists DC among the places it operates but requires traders to be 21, even though the District lets people bet on sports at 18.

Read our full Novig review, or claim the offer here.

13. ProphetX

ProphetX lets you back or lay sports contracts against other traders on its own CFTC-approved exchange. It takes 2% of net winnings, nothing on parlays, and does not limit winning players. ProphetX is open across DC from 18, and we found no District action against it.

Read our full ProphetX review, or claim the offer here.

14. Fliff

Fliff is a social sportsbook played with Fliff Coins for fun or Fliff Cash for prizes. A DC bill heard in May 2026 would ban dual-currency sweepstakes games like this one, but it has not come to a vote, and players need to be 18.

Read our full Fliff review, or claim the offer here.

15. ReBet

ReBet turns picks into a social feed where you follow players and copy any parlay in one tap. The same app has a social casino and daily coin claims. ReBet is open in DC to players 18 and over, the District's age of majority.

Read our full ReBet review, or claim the offer here.

16. Courtside

Courtside started in January 2026 and puts sports picks, player pick'em, arcade games, a social casino and card rips behind one wallet. Courtside's official rules leave the District open to players 18 and over.

Read our full Courtside review, or claim the offer here.

17. Onyx Odds

Onyx Odds plays like a sportsbook app, with player props you can set to your own line, same game parlays and live picks while the game streams. Its sweepstakes rules don't exclude DC, and the minimum age is 18.

Sports betting law in Washington, DC

The DC Council passed the Sports Wagering Lottery Amendment Act in December 2018, Mayor Muriel Bowser signed it in January 2019, and it took effect that May after congressional review. The law made the DC Lottery both the regulator and the only citywide app, GambetDC, which launched in May 2020. Private books could only take bets in and around the arenas and ballparks.

The Lottery's monopoly ended in 2024. FanDuel took over its app on April 15, and the budget that took effect in July created team licenses, letting a club that plays its home games in DC bring in a sportsbook that works citywide. BetMGM and the operator at Capital One Arena went citywide right away, DraftKings, Fanatics and ESPN BET followed, and bet365 arrived in September 2026. theScore Bet, the former ESPN BET, left DC in February 2026.

Online casino is not legal in DC. A bill to legalize it and ban sweepstakes casinos had a hearing in May 2026 but has not come to a vote.

The legal age is 18. BetMGM sets its own minimum of 21, and bars with a betting license may require 21 if they serve alcohol.

Which DC sportsbook should I download first?

We would start with FanDuel, the Lottery's own app, for its simple layout and same game parlays. DraftKings is close behind for odds boosts, and bet365 is worth a look for live betting.

Can you bet on college sports in DC?

Yes, with limits. You can't bet on DC schools such as Georgetown, George Washington, Howard and American, or on any college game played inside the District.
