ProphetX is a peer-to-peer sports prediction market. You back or lay Yes/No contracts against other traders, with prices between 1 and 99 cents and every winning contract settling at $1. In June 2026 the CFTC approved ProphetX as both a designated contract market and a derivatives clearing organization, so it runs its own exchange and clears its own trades.

ProphetX best features

ProphetX began as a betting exchange, and most of what made that model work has carried over.

No vig, commission on winnings only

ProphetX does not bake a margin into its prices. On straight trades you pay a 2% commission on your net winnings in a market, and nothing when you lose or when an order goes unmatched. Parlays and other combination trades carry 0% commission.

Request your own price

ProphetX runs a back-and-lay order book, so you can take the best available price or post your own and wait for another trader to match it. For multi-leg trades there is a request-for-quote tool that asks the market to price your combination instead of accepting whatever a sportsbook posts.

Close positions early

To get out of a position before the game ends, place the opposite order on the book. It is a cash out, priced by other traders instead of the house. ProphetX also says it does not limit winning players, which is rare.

Live trading and Parlay Mode

Markets stay open in play. Trade as the score changes. Parlay Mode lets you build multi-leg and same game parlays with search and alternate spreads and totals, all at 0% commission once you have joined ProphetX.

Paper trading

If the exchange format is new to you, the app includes a practice mode so you can place paper trades and get used to backing, laying and closing before you put real money on the book.

Banking at ProphetX
