Tennessee Betting Sites, Apps & Guide

Tennessee went live with online sports betting on November 1, 2020, and it is still an online-only state. There are no casinos and no retail sportsbooks, so every legal bet goes through an app. The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council licenses nine online sportsbooks and describes the state as the largest online-only betting market in the country.
Below is our list of the best Tennessee apps, followed by a closer look at each one we recommend. Further down we cover the rules on age and college props, why Tennessee doesn't tax your winnings and the questions people ask us most.

Sports betting law in Tennessee
The Tennessee Sports Gaming Act passed in 2019, and Governor Bill Lee let it become law without his signature. It allows online betting only, with no casinos or retail sportsbooks. The Tennessee Education Lottery ran the market at first; the Sports Wagering Council took over in January 2022 and also regulates fantasy sports.
Tennessee started out with a 20% tax on revenue and a rule that books keep at least 10% of what was bet. Both went away on July 1, 2023, when the state switched to a 1.85% tax on every dollar wagered. The council has since banned credit card deposits and spelled out the ban on in-game college props. It has also sent cease-and-desist letters to a long list of offshore and social sportsbooks.
The market has also changed shape. bet365 arrived in March 2025, while Betly and Action 24/7, the only Tennessee-owned book, both left by January 2026.
Tennessee teams to bet on
Tennessee has teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLS, plus two SEC football programs. All of them are on the board, though props on college players are not.
- Tennessee Titans (NFL): Robert Saleh is head coach for 2026, the team's last season at the current Nissan Stadium before the new enclosed stadium opens in 2027.
- Memphis Grizzlies (NBA): Play at FedExForum in Memphis. Ja Morant was traded to Portland in June 2026.
- Nashville Predators (NHL): Play at Bridgestone Arena and reached the Stanley Cup Final in 2017. BetMGM is a team partner.
- Nashville SC (MLS): Won the 2025 U.S. Open Cup, the club's first trophy.
- Tennessee Volunteers (college): Josh Heupel is in his sixth season as football coach in 2026 at Neyland Stadium.
- Vanderbilt Commodores (college): Went 10-3 in 2025 under Clark Lea, the first 10-win season in program history.
- NASCAR: Bristol Motor Speedway and Nashville Superspeedway both host Cup Series races.

You must be 21 to bet with a Tennessee sportsbook. Fantasy and pick'em apps set their own age and check it when you sign up.
