Online sports betting went live in Massachusetts on March 10, 2023, about six weeks after the casino sportsbooks opened. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission licenses seven online sportsbooks. A few rules here are stricter than elsewhere: you can't deposit with a credit card, and in-state college teams are off the board unless they are playing in a tournament.

Below is our list of the best Massachusetts apps, followed by a closer look at each one we recommend. Further down we cover the college rules, how Massachusetts taxes winnings and the questions people ask us most.

Offers checked November 4, 2026. Terms apply to every offer, so read them on the operator's site before you sign up.

Massachusetts app reviews

Each card covers one app from the list, with the welcome offer we checked, what it does best and how it works in Massachusetts.

1. FanDuel

FanDuel opened on launch day in March 2023 and announced a multiyear deal with the Boston Bruins the same day. It holds one of the state's untethered online licenses, so it doesn't need a casino partner here.

The app is quick to learn, and same game parlays on Patriots and Celtics games take a few taps.

Read our full FanDuel review, or claim the offer here.

2. DraftKings

DraftKings is based in Boston, and its sportsbook has been live in Massachusetts since the first day. It posts a long list of daily odds boosts and goes deep on player props for the NFL and NBA.

Every bet earns credit in Dynasty Rewards.

Read our full DraftKings review, or claim the offer here.

3. BetMGM

BetMGM's online license is tied to MGM Springfield, which also runs a BetMGM retail sportsbook, and the brand signed on as the Red Sox's betting partner in 2023. Bets earn BetMGM Rewards points that you can use at MGM properties.

Edit My Bet lets you change a parlay after you place it.

Read our full BetMGM review, or claim the offer here.

4. Fanatics

Fanatics launched on May 25, 2023 with a license tied to Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville. Every bet earns FanCash, which you can spend on jerseys and gear or turn back into bets.

Read our full Fanatics review, or claim the offer here.

5. theScore Bet

theScore Bet is PENN Entertainment's app, licensed through Plainridge Park Casino. It has been live since launch day under three names: Barstool Sportsbook, then ESPN BET from November 2023, then theScore Bet from December 1, 2025.

Scores, news and stats from theScore app sit next to your bets, so you can follow a game and bet on it in one place.

Read our full theScore Bet review, or claim the offer here.

6. Sleeper

Sleeper puts real-money picks one tab away from the fantasy leagues many players already run in the app, with injury insurance on NFL, NBA and MLB picks. After the attorney general's February 2024 letter, Sleeper's Where Can I Play page lists Massachusetts for its peer-to-peer PicksVS game, open to players 21 and older.

Read our full Sleeper review, or claim the offer here.

7. Dabble

Dabble entries can be public, so you can copy another player's slip in a tap, and a Banter chat runs beside each game. Its state page lists Massachusetts as peer-to-peer, the format the attorney general has required of pick'em apps here since 2024.

Read our full Dabble review, or claim the offer here.

8. Betr

Betr Picks lets you stack 2 to 10 More or Less player picks, with the multiplier rising as you add more. Betr closed its real-money sportsbook in Massachusetts in February 2024, but Betr Picks still lists the state on its official availability page.

Read our full Betr review, or claim the offer here.

9. ParlayPlay

ParlayPlay keeps pick'em simple with higher or lower calls on player stats, insured entries and free weekly contests with cash prizes. In Massachusetts it offers its peer-to-peer Rumble contests, and players here must be 21.

Read our full ParlayPlay review, or claim the offer here.

10. Underdog

Underdog is best known for Best Ball and pick'em, but in Massachusetts its state eligibility page lists only Prediction Picks, its sports contracts on a CFTC-regulated exchange. Pick'em and Best Ball drafts are not offered here.

Trading involves risk, including total loss on positions

11. Kalshi

Kalshi lets you buy Yes or No on games, rate decisions and weather at 1 to 99 cents, with limit orders at your own price. Attorney General Andrea Campbell won a preliminary injunction against Kalshi in early 2026, but an appeals judge stayed it, and Kalshi keeps serving Massachusetts while the Supreme Judicial Court decides the case.

Read our full Kalshi review, or claim the offer here.

12. Polymarket US

On Polymarket US in Massachusetts you trade elections, the economy, crypto and pop culture, and limit orders that fill earn a maker rebate. Its federal case against Massachusetts is paused until the state's highest court rules on Kalshi, and the state agreed not to enforce its betting laws against Polymarket during the pause.

Sports contracts are not offered in Massachusetts; its other markets are.

18+ Only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Not available in all jurisdictions. Trading is risky. 100% loss can occur. See polymarket.com/tos for more information. Read our full Novig review, or claim the offer here.

Read our full ProphetX review, or claim the offer here.

Fliff gives you a full sportsbook menu, from spreads to same game parlays, without staking your own money: Fliff Coins are for fun and Fliff Cash can be redeemed after one playthrough. Sweepstakes play is still legal in Massachusetts, and Fliff's official rules include the state.

Read our full Fliff review, or claim the offer here.

16. ReBet

ReBet, from Hanover, New Hampshire, is a social sportsbook and casino where you can copy a friend's parlay or challenge them head to head. It uses ReBet Coins and ReBet Cash instead of cash bets, and Massachusetts is not among the states its official rules exclude.

Read our full ReBet review, or claim the offer here.

17. Courtside

Courtside puts sports picks, player pick'em, arcade games, a social casino and card rips in one free-to-play wallet, with leaderboards for wins and streaks. Sports betting law in Massachusetts

Governor Charlie Baker signed H.5164, An Act Regulating Sports Wagering, on August 10, 2022. The law put the Massachusetts Gaming Commission in charge and created three kinds of license: one for the casinos, one for racetracks and simulcast centers, and one for online sportsbooks. Up to 15 online licenses are allowed, some tied to a casino and the rest awarded by application. Online books pay a 20% tax on revenue, and bettors cannot fund accounts with a credit card.

The casino sportsbooks took their first bets on January 31, 2023 and the apps followed on March 10, 2023. Betr and WynnBET left in early 2024 and Bally Bet arrived in July 2024, which leaves seven online books today. The commission has since moved operators to five-year licenses, and from June 1, 2026 a sportsbook that limits your account has to tell you why within 48 hours.

Lawmakers keep debating tighter rules. A Senate bill that would ban prop and in-game bets and raise the online tax cleared a committee in March 2026, but it is a proposal, not law. Online casino games are still not legal in Massachusetts.

Massachusetts teams to bet on

Boston has a team in every major league except the WNBA, and the state's college rules matter if you follow Boston College or UMass.

  • New England Patriots (NFL): Went 14-3 in Mike Vrabel's first season and reached Super Bowl LX, where they lost to the Seattle Seahawks. Vrabel was named NFL Coach of the Year.
  • Boston Celtics (NBA): Won the 2024 title, the franchise's 18th. Jayson Tatum came back from a torn Achilles in March 2026.
  • Boston Red Sox (MLB): Made the 2026 playoffs as a wild card and lost the Wild Card Series to the Yankees.
  • Boston Bruins (NHL): Made the playoffs with 100 points in Marco Sturm's first season as coach (2025-26).
  • New England Revolution (MLS): Play at Gillette Stadium. Marko Mitrovic became head coach in November 2025.
  • Boston Legacy FC (NWSL): Played their first season in 2026.
  • Boston College and UMass (college): You can bet on them only in a tournament of four or more teams, and props on college players are off the board everywhere.
