Will Tiger Woods make the cut at Riviera? We're betting against it

Tiger Woods has won 15 majors and will make his first non-major appearance since 2020 this weekend at Riviera. Incredibly, Woods and Jack Nicklaus have never won at Riviera, which just happens to be where Tiger made his PGA Tour debut as a 16-year-old amateur in 1992 when he missed the cut by six strokes. Though Tiger has never won at Riviera, he was runner-up there in 1999 and has three Top 10 finishes at Hogan’s Alley.

Twenty three of the world’s Top 25 golfers are in the field this week and the odds of Tiger making the cut are not good. In fact, it would be a minor miracle if it were to happen. At this point, a made cut and him being able to limp through all four rounds would be considered a win.

The smart bet will be on Tiger missing the cut, which is currently -210 at DraftKings. If you think Tiger will show up ready to play and make the cut, the odds are +150 at DraftKings. Other DraftKings Tiger props include:

To finish Top 40: +200

To finish Top 20: +500

To finish Top 10: +1200

To Win: +6500

Taking a break from Tiger for a moment, here are the odds on the favorites this weekend:

Jon Rahm +1000 (World No. 3)

Rory McIlroy +1100 (World No. 2)

Justin Thomas +1200 (World No. 7)

Xander Schauffle +1400 (World No. 6)

Scottie Scheffler +1400 (World No. 1)

Jordan Spieth +2000 (World No. 16)

Collin Morikawa +2000 (World No. 9)

Patrick Cantlay +2200 (World No. 5)

Viktor Hovland +2500 (World No. 11)

Only two of the last 10 winners at Riviera are in the field this week and Max Homa (+5000) and Adam Scott (+8000) are not exactly favorites to win it.

Scheffler is not only the No. 1 player in the world but he’s coming in hot after winning at Phoenix last week. His +1400 odds are going to be tough to pass up, especially when you consider he finished 20th and 7th in his last two trips to Riviera. Justin Rose, who is +7000, won at Pebble Beach in the season-opener two weeks ago but is much more of a long shot this week.

While Vegas likes Rahm, McIlroy and Thomas more than Scheffler this week, Scheffler has all the tools necessary to win again and if it happens, the payday is going to be nice.

Pick to win: Scottie Scheffler +1400 at DraftKings

Best Bet: Tiger Woods to miss cut -210 at DraftKings
