CFB Week 6 Saturday Best Picks and Predictions
October football means rivalry matchups, conference road tests and the kind of player-prop edges that define a Saturday slate. Week 6 delivers all three storylines in one package. No. 16 Vanderbilt heads to Tuscaloosa nearly a year to the day after stunning Alabama in one of last season’s biggest upsets. Meanwhile, Texas travels to the Swamp for its first true SEC test, and Notre Dame gets a Group of 5 opponent in Boise State in a game in which backfield depth could decide prop value. Here’s a breakdown of the best betting opportunities for CFB Week 6.

Pick #1: Vanderbilt Commodores vs Alabama Crimson Tide Over 55 (-110) Click Here to Bet
Pick #2: Texas Longhorns -6.5 over Florida Gators (-115) Click Here to Bet
Pick #3: Jadarian Price Over 70.5 Rushing Yards in Boise State Broncos vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-115) Click Here to Bet
PICK #1: Vanderbilt vs Alabama Over 55 (-110) Click Here to Bet
Last year, Vanderbilt shocked the world with a 40-35 win over Alabama, snapping a 40-year losing streak in the series. Now both teams come in ranked, and the matchup projects to be every bit as explosive.
Vanderbilt’s offense averages 223.4 rushing yards per game behind QB Diego Pavia and running backs Sedrick Alexander and Makhilyn Young. The Commodores rank first in the SEC in yards per carry (6.49), and have already scored 18 rushing touchdowns. Alabama just allowed Georgia to gash them for 227 yards on the ground at 6.9 yards per attempt. If Vandy maintains that ground success, its balanced RPO system can keep the chains moving.
On the flip side, Ty Simpson has settled in as Alabama’s QB1. Over the past three games, he has completed 82% of his passes with nine TDs and no turnovers, finding weapons like Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard downfield. Vanderbilt’s pass defense has been leaky, already surrendering a conference-high nine touchdowns through the air.
Both defenses have struggled in the red zone, ranking near the bottom of the SEC in opponent scoring percentage. Add in mobile QB risk, as Alabama has struggled mightily containing them under Kalen DeBoer, and the recipe is clear: both offenses will score.
Last year’s matchup saw 75 total points. Even with both defenses aiming for revenge, 55 feels too low. Play the over.
PICK #2: Texas -6.5 over Florida (-115) Click Here to Bet
The Longhorns are laying 6.5, and it’s the right side to back.
Texas’ offense hasn’t fully clicked behind Arch Manning yet, but the defense is elite. The Longhorns held Ohio State to 14 points in Week 1, and rank among the nation’s best in yards per play allowed. Florida’s offense, meanwhile, has been downright painful.
QB DJ Lagway threw five interceptions against LSU and has looked uncomfortable since returning from injury. The Gators have scored just 16, 10 and 7 points in their last three games.
The Swamp is no easy road environment, but Florida’s fan base is restless with Billy Napier fully back on the hot seat and the team off to a 1-3 start. Yes, Texas has its own concerns: penalties (8.5 per game) have been a drive-killer, and star RB CJ Baxter is doubtful, but the edge in motivation and effort is hard to ignore.
Expect Steve Sarkisian to simplify things for Manning by establishing the run with depth backs, leaning on quick throws and allowing the pass rush to pin its ears back against a rattled Lagway. A final like 31-10 or 24-10 fits perfectly here. Back Texas to cover.
Pick #3: Jadarian Price Over 70.5 Rushing Yards in Boise State vs Notre Dame (-115) Click Here to Bet
The prop market continues to underrate Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price. While starter Jeremiyah Love gets the headlines (and the high rushing totals), Price has quietly been just as efficient, averaging 6.8 yards per carry with six touchdowns.
Notre Dame enters as a 20.5-point favorite over Boise State, which sets up perfectly for Price’s role. In blowout scripts, he sees close to 15 carries, and he’s cleared 70 rushing yards in back-to-back weeks. Against Texas A&M in a tight contest, he still managed 68. Boise’s run defense (155.5 yards allowed per game, 84th nationally) is a step down in competition.
The numbers back it up, as Boise State ranks 121st in red zone defense and struggles with gap control. Notre Dame’s line should wear them down, and Price only needs one or two chunk runs to cash this over. With Love likely to get spelled in the second half, this is one of the best prop values on Saturday’s slate.
