Minnesota vs Oregon Best Picks November 14th

Week 12 of the 2025 college football season continues with a Big Ten battle between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Oregon Ducks on Friday night in Eugene, Oregon. Having already taken a loss at the hands of Indiana, Oregon (8-1) needs to win out if it wants to stay in the conference-title picture. Minnesota (6-3) clinched bowl eligibility with an overtime victory against Michigan State on November 1.

With Friday’s contest set for 9:00 pm ET on FOX, it’s time to break down the odds and discuss the best bets to make.

Minnesota vs Oregon Predictions

  • Pick #1: Minnesota +25.5 (-112) vs. Oregon (-112)
  • Pick #2: Minnesota vs. Oregon Under 44.5 Total Points (-110)
  • Pick #3: Noah Whittington Over 73.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

PICK #1: Minnesota +25.5 (-112) vs. Oregon

Minnesota should be feeling good about itself at the moment. It is coming off a big win over Michigan State, and that was followed by an off week, so the visitors are well rested heading into Oregon. There is no denying that the Golden Gophers have been blown out by the two best teams on their schedule so far (Ohio State and Iowa), but at the same time, they destroyed then-No. 25 Nebraska 24-6 on October 17.

If head coach P.J. Fleck’s team can effectively run the ball, they should be able to make this contest somewhat competitive. Running back Darius Taylor has been dealing with a hamstring injury throughout the 2025 campaign, but it sounds like he may be able to return following a one-game absence. Even if he can’t, backfield mate Fame Ijeboi is averaging 4.7 yards per carry this season and just torched Michigan State for 108 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, this is a potential letdown spot for the Ducks. They picked up a crucial victory at Iowa this past weekend and have USC looming large on the schedule immediately following this date with Minnesota.

PICK #2: Minnesota vs. Oregon Under 44.5 Total Points (-110)

Yes, this is a home game for Oregon. Still, there is basically always travel involved for a Big Ten team located in the Pacific Northwest that is pretty much alternating home and road games throughout the season. Following their dramatic 18-16 victory at Iowa, the Ducks head back across the country to entertain Minnesota. It would be no surprise if their offense turns in a sleepy performance – especially since they are playing on a short week with this unusual Friday assignment.

Moreover, the offense was extremely banged up against the Hawkeyes, and it could be without as many as five starters when the Golden Gophers come to town. The Under also correlates nicely with Minnesota covering the spread, because the underdogs’ best chance of making it close is to engage in an ugly, low-scoring slog. They probably can’t keep up with the Ducks if this turns into a shootout.

PICK #3: Noah Whittington Over 73.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

Whittington shares duties in Oregon’s backfield with Jordon Davison, but we expect Whittington to get more carries on Friday. In the seven games in which they have both played this season, only twice has Davison gotten more carries than Whittington.

Davison, who checks in at 6’0’’ and 236 pounds, is more of a red-zone back with 10 touchdowns already this season. As for Whittington, he has rushed for at least 97 yards in three straight outings – a stretch that includes performances of 125 and 118 yards. The senior from Fort Valley, Georgia, now faces a Minnesota defense that surrendered 133 yards on the ground to both Ohio State and Iowa.
