Dream vs. Valkyries Prediction, WNBA Finals Game 2 Odds & Best Bets (10/19)

Fact checked at 6:31 AM ET, Oct 19, 2026
Odds as of Oct 19, 5:24 AM ET
Atlanta led Game 1 for most of the afternoon and still lost it. The Dream shot 2-for-19 in the fourth quarter, scored eight points in the period and dropped the quarter by nine, and Golden State walked off with a 68-64 win in the opener of the best-of-seven Finals on Saturday. It was Atlanta's first loss of the postseason, and it ended a 10-game winning streak. Gabby Williams scored 26 for the Valkyries. Nobody else on her team reached double figures.
I expect more of the same. Golden State has now beaten Atlanta four times this season, the three regular-season meetings plus Game 1, and it hasn't lost at Chase Center in these playoffs. It wins these games with defense, and its scoring runs through Williams.
The market has drifted the same way. Golden State opened Saturday evening as a 1.5-point favorite and is now -2.5, and its moneyline has moved from -122 to -142.
Brionna Jones is out again for Atlanta. Allisha Gray returned from a finger injury to start Game 1, scored 19, and is not on the league's injury report. On the other side, Williams said she was fine after taking a knock to the knee late in Game 1. Coach Natalie Nakase said afterward that, so far, she expected Tiffany Hayes to be available after Hayes hit her face on the floor in the closing minutes.
Game 2 tips Monday at 8:00 PM ET at Chase Center in San Francisco, on USA and Peacock.
Dream vs. Valkyries Predictions
- Pick #1: Golden State Valkyries Moneyline (-142)
- Pick #2: Gabby Williams Over 18.5 Points (-118)
PICK #1: Golden State Valkyries Moneyline (-142)
Atlanta scored 91.3 points a game in the regular season, third in the league. Against Golden State it has scored 66, 75, 83 and 64, and it lost all four. Saturday's 64 came on 21-for-64 shooting, 4-for-25 from three. The Valkyries allowed 75.1 points a game during the regular season, and the next-best defense in the league allowed 82.7, so this isn't a close race.
Golden State is 5-0 at Chase Center in the playoffs and 38-13 this season with the postseason included. Most of the money is on the Valkyries too: 71% of moneyline dollars, from only 46% of the bets.
-142 implies a 58.7% chance, and I have Golden State better than that. My worry is the Valkyries' offense. They averaged 82.2 points in the regular season, tied for second-fewest in the league, and shot 32% in Game 1, 7-for-33 from deep. Atlanta led most of Saturday, and a cleaner fourth quarter from the Dream would have this series tied.
PICK #2: Gabby Williams Over 18.5 Points (-118)
If Golden State wins, Williams probably does the scoring. She has reached 19 points in six of her seven playoff games (20, 36, 19, 25, 20 and 26), and the only miss was a 16-point night in the overtime win at Las Vegas. Against Atlanta this season she has scored 23, 16, 19 and 26.
Her role grew in the playoffs. Williams averaged 25 minutes and 14.4 points in the regular season, and she is up to 31.6 minutes and 23.1 points in the postseason. On Saturday she played 33 minutes, took 22 shots, scored 16 in the second quarter alone and hit the free throws for six of Golden State's last seven points. No other Valkyrie got to 10, so the ball keeps finding her.
The break-even at -118 is 54.1%. The regular season is the case against: she cleared this number in only 11 of 40 games. There's also the knee she banged late in Game 1, though she said afterward she was OK.
