Dream vs. Liberty Prediction, WNBA Semifinals Game 3 Odds & Best Bets (10/9)

Fact checked at 8:45 AM ET, Oct 9, 2026
Odds as of Oct 9, 7:48 AM ET
Atlanta is one win from the Finals. The Dream lead the best-of-five semifinal 2-0 after a 92-82 win on Sunday and a 101-98 overtime win on Wednesday, both in Atlanta. They have beaten New York four straight times going back to the last week of the regular season, and the two September games at Barclays Center were both double-digit wins, 95-84 and 83-65. Nine wins in a row overall. The Liberty (26-18) are at home with their season on the line against a team that went 30-14 and was 15-7 away from Atlanta.
The one thing nobody knows yet is whether Allisha Gray plays. Atlanta's leading scorer averaged 19.0 points in the regular season, hurt her left shooting hand in the first quarter of Game 1, played 11 minutes, missed Game 2 and is questionable on the league's official injury report. The Dream have said nothing new since Thursday, so expect her status to be settled closer to tip. What the Dream did without her is the story of the series. New York turned it over 21 times in Game 1 and 17 in Game 2, Atlanta leads 60-24 in points off turnovers, and the Dream have scored at least 20 points off turnovers in all four of their playoff games. This is the team that led the WNBA in steals in the regular season at 9.1 a game. Brionna Jones (left leg) is still out for Atlanta and has not played in the postseason.
The consensus line has New York -3 with a total of 172.5. The spread opened at -3.5 and the total has barely moved. On the moneyline, the Liberty are -150 and the Dream +125, from -155 and +130 at the open. Game 3 tips off Friday at 7:30 PM ET at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, on ESPN2.
We think Atlanta's pressure defense and spread-out scoring travel just fine. The Dream keep scoring, keep this within a possession, and more likely than not end the series tonight. Both picks below need that version of the game and nothing more.
Dream vs. Liberty Predictions
- Pick #1: Dream +3 (-110)
- Pick #2: Dream Team Total Over 85.5 (-109)
PICK #1: Dream +3 (-110)
Atlanta has been the better team all series, and it gets three points on the road for the trouble.
Neither game in Atlanta hinged on Gray. With her on the floor for 11 minutes and then zero, the Dream scored 92 and 101, committed 13 and 9 turnovers while forcing 21 and 17, and won the offensive glass 11-5 in Game 2. Six Atlanta players scored in double figures on Wednesday, led by 23 each from Jordin Canada and Angel Reese, so this is not an offense waiting on one shooter. The Dream are 4-0 straight up and against the spread in these playoffs. Their regular-season offense, 91.3 points a game, ranked third among 15 teams, and two of the four straight wins over New York came as a road underdog in this building.
The betting market has drifted the same direction. Atlanta has 65% of the spread money on 54% of the bets, so the bigger tickets are on the Dream, and the line has come down half a point since it opened. The number ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 across the major books, so take 3 or better where you can find it. At -110, the implied chance is 52.4%.
Here is what you are sweating. New York shot 55% in Game 2 and only lost in overtime, and Breanna Stewart went for 35 and 11. The Liberty were 14-8 at home in the regular season, this is their first home game of the series, and a loss ends their year. Gray does not decide this bet, though. If she plays, Atlanta gets its leading scorer back. If she sits, Atlanta fields the group that has already won twice. Desperation gives New York a reason to play hard. It does not change which team has controlled the ball.
Prefer the outright? The Dream moneyline (+125, a 44.4% implied chance) is the same side with more upside.
PICK #2: Dream Team Total Over 85.5 (-109)
Atlanta does not need Gray to get to 86, and it has been clearing this number with room to spare.
The Dream put up 92 in Game 1 with Gray limited to 11 minutes and 101 in Game 2 without her, 88 of those in regulation. Across their last 10 games they have scored 86 or more eight times (83, 89, 103, 106, 95, 83, 92, 93, 92, 101). Against New York this season the run is 90, 95, 83, 92 and 101, four of five over this line, against a defense that gave up 86.4 points a game in the regular season. The points come from the defense: 60 off turnovers in two games, plus 18 and 11 on the fast break. Atlanta also got to the foul line 23 times in each game.
At -109, you are paying for a 52.2% implied chance, and the regular-season average of 91.3 sits more than five points above the line.
The argument against this starts with the betting public. Most of the money on the game total is on the Under, 87% of the money on 62% of the bets, and the total has not moved off 172.5. Atlanta's lowest score against New York this season, 83, came at Barclays Center on Sep 23. The Liberty held Minnesota to 75 and 71 at home in the first round, and the Dream shot just 40.5% from the field in Game 2 and needed overtime to reach 101. One more thing to know: this pick shares its risk with the spread. A New York rout that holds Atlanta in the 70s sinks both. In most other versions of this game, Atlanta's balanced scoring gets it there.
