Delaware vs. Middle Tennessee Prediction, CFB Week 7 Odds & Best Bets (10/13)

Fact checked at 5:40 AM ET, Oct 13, 2026
Odds as of Oct 13, 5:36 AM ET
Delaware (2-3, 0-1 Conference USA) visits Middle Tennessee (2-3, 0-1) at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium in Murfreesboro, on CBS Sports Network. Delaware is a 1.5-point favorite, -118 on the moneyline to Middle Tennessee's -102, with a total of 47.5. Middle Tennessee was the 1.5-point favorite when the line went up Friday night, and it flipped to Delaware with no quarterback announcement behind the move.
Everything about this game starts with Delaware's quarterback. Nick Minicucci was the league's preseason offensive player of the year after leading Conference USA in passing yards in 2025. He hurt his knee at Virginia on Sept. 26, missed the 30-14 loss to Liberty, and coach Ryan Carty has called him week to week without saying who starts here. Delaware didn't score against Liberty until the final 10 minutes, and Carty called it as poor a two-game stretch offensively as he has been part of. Middle Tennessee is coming off a 23-13 loss at Jacksonville State and a 55-0 beating at Kansas, but Roman Gagliano has thrown every one of its passes this season, and he has a clear go-to target near the goal line.
We expect Delaware's offense to keep sputtering against a number set for last year's version, and when Middle Tennessee scores, we expect Cam'ron Lacy to be the one in the end zone. Both picks cash in that game. The NWS forecast for kickoff is clear, about 84 degrees, with a 10 mph wind.
Delaware vs. Middle Tennessee Predictions
- Pick #1: Delaware Team Total Under 23.5 (+100)
- Pick #2: Cam'ron Lacy Anytime Touchdown (-125)
PICK #1: Delaware Team Total Under 23.5 (+100)
Leave out the 42 points against FCS Merrimack and Delaware's scoring reads 26 at Vanderbilt, 22 against Coastal Carolina, 3 at Virginia and 14 against Liberty. Only one of those four FBS games cleared 23.5, and Minicucci got hurt in both the Vanderbilt and Virginia games. Against Liberty, E.J. Archield Jr. started, Braden Streeter and Tyler Bell also played, and Delaware trailed 23-0 going into the fourth quarter before scoring twice late.
This price leans on last season. The 2025 Blue Hens led Conference USA in total offense, with Minicucci throwing for 3,683 yards. Even with the Merrimack game in its averages, the 2026 team runs for 98.8 yards a game, 132nd in the country, and converts 29.9% of its third downs. Middle Tennessee gives up 28 points a game, a figure that includes FCS Murray State, but 55 of its 140 points allowed came at Kansas. The three Group of Five teams it has faced scored 28 (Marshall), 20 (Nevada) and 23 (Jacksonville State).
At even money you need to win half the time. If Minicucci is cleared and sharp, this bet gets a lot harder: he threw for 302 yards against Coastal Carolina (and 330 against FCS Merrimack), and Middle Tennessee allows 225 rushing yards a game, Murray State included. We like it best with a backup under center.
PICK #2: Cam'ron Lacy Anytime Touchdown (-125)
Lacy has scored in four of Middle Tennessee's five games, on catches of 22, 11, 10 and 5 yards. The 22-yarder came against FCS Murray State, so against FBS teams he is three for four, and the only blank was the 55-0 loss at Kansas, a game in which the whole offense managed 136 yards. Four of Gagliano's eight touchdown passes have gone to him, and he has four of the offense's 11 touchdowns overall. He leads the conference with 6.2 catches a game (31 for 335 yards, Murray State game included) and has caught a pass in 13 straight games.
Delaware has allowed eight touchdown passes and eight rushing touchdowns in five games. Five of those passing scores came in one game at Virginia, so that number flatters Lacy a little, but the Blue Hens still allow 252.8 passing yards a game, a five-game average that includes FCS Merrimack.
At -125, the implied chance is 55.6%. He can't score if his offense doesn't, and Middle Tennessee put up 13 and 0 in its last two games. Nothing points to Gagliano or Lacy missing this one, but neither team publishes an availability report for this game.
