Odds as of 6:48 AM ET, Nov 4, 2026
Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan meet at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN2 at Ford Field in Detroit, Eastern Michigan's designated home game under the dome. Central Michigan is 3-5 and has lost three straight, the last a 28-27 home loss to Miami (Ohio). Eastern Michigan is 4-5, 3-2 in the MAC, after losing 24-20 at Ohio. Eastern Michigan is a short favorite of 1.5 to 2 points depending on the book, and the total is 44.5.
We expect a slow, low-scoring game that Central Michigan wins. Each offense runs straight into what the other defense does best, and both teams are sorting out quarterback changes. Jadyn Glasser is set for his second start for Central Michigan after Angel Flores's season-ending ankle injury. Eastern Michigan's Noah Kim missed the Ohio game with an undisclosed injury and his status is still unclear; Brogan McCaughey started in his place. Both starters are projected, and the conference hasn't confirmed either one.
Central Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan Predictions
- Pick #1: Central Michigan Moneyline (-102)
- Pick #2: Under 44.5 (-109)
PICK #1: Central Michigan Moneyline (-102)
Eastern Michigan's offense is built on the pass, and Central Michigan defends the pass better than almost anyone in the MAC. The Chippewas rank second in the conference at 180.1 passing yards allowed per game. The Eagles throw a lot and don't get much for it: 5.8 yards per attempt on the season, and McCaughey managed 5.1 (27 of 39 for 197 yards) in his start at Ohio. Their ground game averages about 106 yards, so there isn't much to fall back on.
Glasser gives Central Michigan a different look. In his first start he went 18 of 31 for 221 yards and a touchdown against Miami (Ohio), the Chippewas' best passing day of the season. Eastern Michigan ranks 12th in the MAC against the pass, so he should find room again.
The larger bets are on the Chippewas: 93% of the spread money on 64% of the tickets, and 68% of the moneyline money on 46% of the tickets. A -102 price works out to 50.5%. Against a team that may be on its backup quarterback, we think Central Michigan wins this a bit more often than that.
The Chippewas have real flaws. They've won only 2 of their 7 games against FBS opponents, and their defense is without Xavier White and James Reinbold for the rest of the season. If Kim plays and plays well, Eastern Michigan gets back a quarterback who ranks second in the MAC in passing yards.
PICK #2: Under 44.5 (-109)
The matchups that point to Central Michigan also point to a low total. The Chippewas run the ball about 38 times a game and run only about 62 plays a game, a pace that keeps the clock moving. They'll be running into an Eastern Michigan run defense that ranks third in the MAC at 135.1 yards allowed. Miami (Ohio), another strong run defense, held them to 64 rushing yards. And Eastern Michigan's passing game meets that Central Michigan pass defense with its starter in doubt.
Neither offense scores much to begin with. Central Michigan averages 17.9 points a game, among the fewest in FBS, and has scored 27 or fewer in six of its seven FBS games. Eastern Michigan averages 21.3 and scored 14 against Toledo and 20 at Ohio in its last two. The total opened at 46.5 and has come down two points.
We're betting the matchup, not the record, because the record is against us. Only 4 of the two teams' 15 FBS games finished under 44.5, though three more landed right on 45. Most bettors are on the Over too, with 73% of the tickets and 64% of the money. At -109 the Under implies 52.2%. A healthy Kim, or a couple of short fields off turnovers, is how this gets away from us.
