Wofford vs. North Carolina Prediction, Men's College Basketball Odds & Best Bets (11/6)

Odds as of 7:24 AM ET, Nov 6, 2026
Wofford visits North Carolina at 7:00 PM ET at the Dean E. Smith Center. North Carolina should win, but we expect a choppy, foul-heavy night with extra possessions on both ends, the Tar Heels at the free-throw line and Wofford on the offensive glass. A game like that runs up the score and keeps the underdog close enough, so we're on the Over and Wofford with the points.
Both teams have played one game. North Carolina beat Western Carolina 80-72 in Michael Malone's debut, and Wofford lost 90-59 at No. 8 Tennessee after trailing only 34-31 at halftime. One game apiece isn't much, so the case below comes from how those two games were played.
Wofford vs. North Carolina Predictions
- Pick #1: Over 156.5 (-107)
- Pick #2: Wofford +22.5 (-105)
PICK #1: Over 156.5 (-107)
North Carolina lived at the line in its opener. Western Carolina was called for 28 fouls, and the Tar Heels went 25 for 35 on free throws. It was also beaten on the boards 41-32, with the Catamounts grabbing 13 offensive rebounds. Wofford brings the same kind of glass work: it had 13 offensive rebounds at Tennessee, five from 7-foot center Evan Ramsey. Free throws stop the clock and second chances add trips. Both help this total.
North Carolina also has an easy path to points at the other end. Tennessee shot 34 of 65 against Wofford and scored 27 fast-break points. The Tar Heels went 9 for 30 from three in their opener and still scored 80; a better shooting night puts them in the high 80s.
The bigger bettors are with us: 62% of the bets on the total are on the Over, but 96% of the money is. At -107 you're paying for a 51.7% chance. The weak spot is plain enough. Both openers stayed under totals in the mid-150s, North Carolina's because of that cold shooting and Wofford's because it scored just 28 points after halftime in Knoxville. If Wofford can't buy a basket again, the Over needs North Carolina to do nearly all of the work.
PICK #2: Wofford +22.5 (-105)
North Carolina's opener was not a rout. The Tar Heels led all the way, but Western Carolina got within 58-57 with 9:35 left before a late run decided it. Sixty-six of North Carolina's 80 points came from players in their first game as Tar Heels, and Malone said afterward his team "takes two steps forward, three steps back" and can't sustain its good stretches yet.
Wofford was picked third in the Southern Conference and played Tennessee even for a half. The second half went badly: Tennessee shot 61% after the break and outscored the Terriers 56-28. That's the risk. North Carolina has won 19 straight at the Smith Center, and if it holds Wofford to the 33.9% shooting it allowed Western Carolina, the margin can clear 22.5.
We expect a different game. If Wofford keeps getting second shots, it scores enough to stay inside the number even with North Carolina in the high 80s. An 88-69 final wins both. The spread has sat at 22.5 since it was posted, and 80% of the money on the side is on Wofford. At -105, the break-even is 51.2%. Forward Brian Sumpter, a returning starter, did not play at Tennessee, and the same group that started there is expected to start here.
