Spurs vs Thunder NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals Game 6 Picks 

The Western Conference Finals shift back to San Antonio tonight for a massive Game 6 matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder. Oklahoma City regained control of the series with a 127-114 win in Game 5 behind a brilliant performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished with 32 points, while Alex Caruso provided a huge spark off the bench with 22 points.

Now holding a 3-2 series lead, the Thunder have a chance to close things out on the road, but San Antonio returns home, where it has played some of its best basketball of the postseason. The Spurs will also be looking for a bounce-back effort from Victor Wembanyama after a quieter outing by his standards in Game 5. With the season on the line, expect San Antonio to come out aggressively from the opening tip. Here are our best bets and player props for Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.

PICK #1: Spurs -3.5 (-110)

San Antonio finds itself in a must-win situation tonight, but this team has consistently responded well under pressure throughout the season. The Spurs have already shown they can dominate this matchup at home, including their convincing Game 4 victory, where they controlled the pace defensively and never allowed Oklahoma City to settle into rhythm offensively.

Even though Oklahoma City carries the momentum after Game 5, the Spurs should benefit greatly from returning home, where their role players have been far more comfortable offensively. Victor Wembanyama also feels due for a major response after being relatively contained last game, going 4-for-15 from the field, and historically great players tend to answer quickly after quieter performances in the playoffs.

The Thunder continue to rely heavily on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander offensively, but San Antonio’s length and interior defense still create matchup problems for Oklahoma City over the course of a full game. With desperation now fully on the Spurs’ side and the home crowd expected to be a major factor, San Antonio looks well-positioned to force a Game 7.

PICK #2: Over 219.5 (-110)

The Over has been one of the strongest trends in this series, cashing in four of the first five games, and there’s still good value backing another high-scoring matchup tonight. Both teams continue to generate quality offensive looks consistently, and the pace has remained higher than expected for a Conference Finals series.

Game 5 easily cleared this number, with 241 total points, and both offenses continue to feature multiple players capable of exploding at any moment. Oklahoma City remains dangerous behind Gilgeous-Alexander, Jared McCain and Chet Holmgren, while San Antonio counters with Wembanyama, De’Aaron Fox and an emerging Stephon Castle continuing to take on a larger offensive role.

Elimination games can sometimes tighten up defensively late, but they also tend to create more urgency offensively, especially from the trailing team. San Antonio should push the tempo aggressively at home, while Oklahoma City has shown throughout this series that it can score efficiently even in hostile environments. With the Over continuing to hit consistently in this matchup, we’re riding the trend again in Game 6.

PICK #3: Stephon Castle Over 29.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-110)

Stephon Castle continues to grow into a major offensive contributor for San Antonio, and his all-around production has been one of the biggest developments of this playoff run. The rookie has now cleared this number in three of the five games in the series, including his impressive Game 1 double-double, where he posted 17 points and 11 assists in the overtime win.

Castle followed that up with another strong all-around performance in Game 5, finishing with 24 points, six assists and five rebounds while continuing to play heavy minutes in the loss. Seeing Castle be that aggressive in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals this early in his career gives us confidence that he is willing to step into a massive role. His confidence offensively has clearly increased as the series has progressed, and San Antonio continues to trust him more as both a scorer and a playmaker. 

What makes this prop especially appealing is Castle’s ability to contribute across multiple categories. He doesn’t necessarily need a massive scoring night to clear this number if he stays active on the glass, where he has had at least five rebounds in four of five games and continues facilitating offensively, where he has had at least six assists in each game. Still, if he reaches the 20-point range again tonight, his rebounding and assist opportunities should put him in an excellent position to cash this prop once again.

With the Spurs fighting to extend their season on their home floor, expect Castle to remain heavily involved in pick-and-roll offense with Victor Wembanyama from start to finish in Game 6.
