After San Antonio took Game 1 in a dramatic double-overtime thriller, Oklahoma City responded with a 122-113 victory in Game 2.

The story of the series changed in Game 2 behind a masterpiece from newly crowned MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who bounced back with an efficient 30 points and 9 assists against just a single turnover. Alex Caruso has been an absolute flamethrower this postseason, hitting 11 of his 18 attempts from deep in this series despite shooting an underwhelming 29.3% from 3-point range during the regular season.

Injuries are unfortunately factoring into what is shaping up to be an all-time postseason matchup. The Spurs played the first two games without All-Star point guard De'Aaron Fox due to an ankle sprain. Then, in Game 2, the medical concerns spiraled for both teams. 

Thunder star Jalen Williams re-aggravated a persistent hamstring strain after just 7 minutes of action, and Shams Charania has since reported he is considered day-to-day. On the flip side, brilliant Spurs rookie Dylan Harper left after 25 minutes with a right leg injury. Both remain highly questionable for tonight.

The resulting guard shortage left rookie Stephon Castle as the lone San Antonio primary ballhandler. While Castle was brilliant with 25 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists, he turned the ball over 9 times against OKC's relentless defensive backcourt, now bringing his series total to 20 giveaways. This fueled a glaring 55-27 points-off-turnovers advantage for the Thunder across two games.

However, coming back home to San Antonio should stabilize the Spurs. When their core group of Vassell, Wembanyama, Harper, Champagnie, and Castle is on the floor together, they are a dominant +18 in 41 total minutes. Look for the Spurs' coaching staff to shorten the rotation and rely on their home crowd to fuel a crucial Game 3 victory.

PICK #2: Under 216.5 (-110)

Additionally, fatigue is becoming an immense factor. Four Spurs players have already cracked the 80-minute mark across two games, whereas only SGA has eclipsed 70 minutes for a deeper Thunder team. When Victor Wembanyama sits, the Spurs got far too cute with hybrid zones in Game 2, frequently using Luke Kornet and leaving the middle open to panic rotations.

PICK #3: Victor Wembanyama Over 25.5 Points (-102)

In Game 2, the Thunder implemented a highly physical strategy to limit Wembanyama's close looks, eliminating his inside seals. Center Isaiah Hartenstein assumed heavy defensive responsibility on the superstar, logging 13 rebounds and playing as physically as any defender ever has against the French phenomenon. 

This tactical wrinkle kept Wembanyama away from the rim, allowing Caruso and others to wreak havoc on the perimeter. Wembanyama still put up 21 points, 17 rebounds, and 4 blocks, but the Spurs are a staggering -19 in the 20 minutes he has rested this series compared to a +17 when he is on the floor.

Expect San Antonio to aggressively counter-adjust tonight. Look for the Spurs to run more double-drags and pinch screens to pull Hartenstein out of the paint, utilizing Wembanyama as a primary pick-and-roll screener. 

This forces switches and allows him to punish smaller guards on deep rolls to the rim. Wembanyama will also challenge Hartenstein in isolated settings to draw fouls and force the Thunder big man into early trouble.
