Senators vs. Kings Prediction, NHL Odds & Best Bets (10/29)

Fact checked at 7:31 AM ET, Oct 29, 2026
Odds as of 6:48 AM ET, Oct 29, 2026
The Ottawa Senators (8-5-0) visit Crypto.com Arena tonight at 10:00 PM ET, and the Los Angeles Kings (3-6-2) are still waiting on two things: goals, and a first home win. Los Angeles scores 2.55 goals a game, 28th of 32 teams, and has three goals total in three home losses. Ottawa allows 2.92 a game, tied for eighth-fewest. We expect more of the same from the Kings' offense and an Ottawa win by two or more. That gives us the Senators on the puck line and Quinton Byfield to finish without a point.
Ottawa is -115 on the moneyline and Los Angeles -105. The Senators haven't named a starter. Jonas Johansson has started the last two games (1-1, .893 save percentage), while Samuel Ersson, projected in the pregame goalie listings, is 0-3 with an .835. Darcy Kuemper is projected for Los Angeles. Captain Thomas Chabot has been skating with the main group, and Ottawa put a defenseman on waivers in a move that points to his return. Drew Doughty and Corey Perry are day-to-day for the Kings after sitting out the 2-1 loss in Chicago.
Senators vs. Kings Predictions
- Pick #1: Senators -1.5 (+215)
- Pick #2: Quinton Byfield Under 0.5 Points (-110)
PICK #1: Senators -1.5 (+215)
Los Angeles can barely score in its own building. The Kings have lost all three home games and scored three goals in them, and their 2.55 goals a game ranks 28th. Ottawa allows 2.92 a game, tied for eighth-fewest, and according to the club it allowed 21 even-strength goals in its first 12 games, tied for fifth-fewest.
The market has drifted toward Ottawa. The puck line has come down 15 cents since it opened, to +215, over the same stretch Chabot shed his non-contact jersey and his coach called him "definitely close to playing." Ottawa has 72% of the puck-line bets and 92% of the money.
At +215 the implied probability is 31.7%. Ottawa's last loss looks worse than it was. The 4-1 loss in Vegas was tied 1-1 until a third-period goal, and two of the Vegas goals went into an empty net.
The worry is in goal. Ottawa's starter isn't confirmed, Ersson has struggled, and Linus Ullmark is on injured reserve. The Kings have also won three of their last five, all on the road, with 16 goals in that stretch. A one-goal Ottawa win loses this bet, and books may settle overtime and shootout results differently.
PICK #2: Quinton Byfield Under 0.5 Points (-110)
Byfield has two points this season, and both came on one night: a goal and an assist in San Jose in the second game of the season. He has gone without a point in the seven games he has played since, a stretch that includes a 6-3 win over the Rangers on this road trip. Nine games is a small sample, so we went back a year. He was held without a point in 46 of 79 games last season, 58.2% of the time.
At -110, the implied probability is 52.4%, below both of those rates. He centered the second line between Trevor Moore and Taylor Ward and played on the first power-play unit in the loss in Chicago. If the Kings' offense stays stuck tonight, a second-line center with two points all season is a fair bet to stay blank.
The risk is volume. Byfield put six shots on goal in Chicago, his most this season, and a first-unit power-play shift can turn into a point quickly. He also missed two games after playing under three minutes against Washington, so watch for any lineup change. Player props may settle differently in overtime at different books.
