Seattle, meanwhile, looked every bit the conference #1 seed last week, dismantling the San Francisco 49ers 41–6 after enjoying a first-round bye. The Seahawks offense exploded early and never looked back after an opening kickoff return for a touchdown by Rashid Shaheed.

That approach has worked well against Seattle this season. The Rams took the first meeting at home 21–19 and were moments away from sweeping the series before Seattle’s furious fourth-quarter comeback secured a 38–37 win in the rematch. Both games were decided by razor-thin margins, reinforcing how evenly matched these teams truly are.

Seattle’s blowout win over San Francisco was impressive, but this Rams team presents a very different challenge. They’re healthier defensively than the 49ers and far less likely to unravel under pressure. In a game that profiles as another one-score affair, taking the points with a Rams team that has already proven it can go toe-to-toe with Seattle is the right side.

PICK #2: Under 47.5 Total Points (-110)

Despite the fireworks in Seattle’s last outing and the wild second meeting between these teams, the NFC Championship environment often forces a more measured approach. Familiarity breeds caution, and neither coaching staff is likely to take unnecessary risks with a Super Bowl berth on the line. Los Angeles has leaned on the arm of Stafford and his connection with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. 

But now the Rams face the ultimate test, which is a Seahawks defense that has been terrific all season long, led by former Ram, Ernest Jones, and Devon Witherspoon in the secondary. Sam Darnold’s history against the Rams is hard to ignore. Even in Seattle’s dramatic comeback win earlier this season, Darnold was far from clean, being intercepted twice along the way.

The Rams excel at forcing quarterbacks into uncomfortable throws, particularly in high-leverage situations. They’re patient, opportunistic, and more than willing to let opponents make the first mistake. For example, they are coming off a game in which they intercepted Caleb Williams three times. With Seattle likely needing Darnold to be aggressive at points to move the ball, that risk only increases.

In a game where every possession counts, it’s difficult to envision Darnold getting through four quarters without at least one costly turnover against a defense that has consistently given him problems. Given the matchup history and the pressure of the moment, backing Darnold to throw an interception is a logical and well-supported play.
