The Rams (4-4) visit the Commanders (2-4-1) at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, with kickoff at 1:00 PM ET. Los Angeles has won two straight and is a 4.5-point favorite. Washington beat the Eagles 27-10 last week, but it's playing without defensive tackles Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw, both likely done for the year. The receiver room is thin too. Terry McLaurin is on injured reserve and Treylon Burks and Dyami Brown are ruled out, so Stefon Diggs and rookie Antonio Williams are the only wide receivers available who have caught a pass from Jayden Daniels this season.

The Rams should win this on the ground behind Kyren Williams, while Washington's blitz-heavy defense still takes one throw away from Matthew Stafford. All four Rams wins have gone that way: Williams scored in every one, and Stafford threw at least one interception in every one. Stafford and Daniels should start, though neither has been confirmed.

Rams vs. Commanders Predictions

  • Pick #1: Kyren Williams Anytime Touchdown (-140)
  • Pick #2: Matthew Stafford Over 0.5 Interceptions (-103)

PICK #1: Kyren Williams Anytime Touchdown (-140)

Williams has scored in 6 of the Rams' 8 games, seven touchdowns in all. The two blanks came in losses to Denver and Arizona. He's first on the club's depth chart ahead of Blake Corum, and the Rams have given him more of the ball during the winning streak, 16 carries in each of the last two games.

Washington allows 26.0 points a game, 25th in the league, and has given up 30 or more three times: 37 at Dallas, 31 to Seattle and 30 to Indianapolis. By efficiency measures its run defense sits near the bottom of the league, and now it has to play without Payne and Kinlaw in the middle.

Minus-140 translates to a 58.3% chance. Williams has scored in 75% of his games this season. This loses if the touchdowns go somewhere else, either Corum on short-yardage carries or Stafford finishing drives through the air to Puka Nacua or a tight end.

PICK #2: Matthew Stafford Over 0.5 Interceptions (-103)

Few teams send extra rushers more often than Washington. The Rams' own preview ranks the Commanders fourth in how often they send extra rushers; Washington's preview puts them sixth. That defense also took the ball away twice against the Eagles last week, once on an interception and once on a fumble.

Stafford has thrown a pick in 6 of his 8 games, eight in all, with two each at Denver and Philadelphia and one in each of the last two wins. The -103 price implies 50.7%, and he has cleared it in 75% of his games. The interceptions haven't kept the Rams from winning, either. He threw at least one in all four victories.

You're betting that this season's Stafford is the real one. Last season he threw an interception in only 5 of 17 games. He doesn't get pressured much, 91 times this season, 18th in the league, and with Payne and Kinlaw out Washington may need extra rushers just to reach him. He had clean games against Buffalo and Arizona. He has been icing a sore right elbow, but he practiced fully all week and carries no injury designation.
