NFL Week 9 Best Player Prop Picks

NFL Week 9 Player Prop Picks
Week 8 of the NFL slate is in the books, and it was another chaotic weekend of football that produced plenty of compelling games. The Week 9 card features several interesting games across both conferences, including the Kansas City Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, among others.
We posted a 2-1 week in this column a week ago, which brings us to 14-10 on the season. This week, our expert has three more player prop bets picked out for Sunday’s action. As we dive into this Week 9 slate, it’s time to get into our best player prop bets for this week’s NFL games.
NFL Week 9 Player Prop Bets
- Pick #1: Josh Allen Over 7.5 Rushing Attempts (-130)
- Pick #2: Jahmyr Gibbs Over 99.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-110)
- Pick #3: Bo Nix to Throw an Interception (-120)
PICK #1: Josh Allen Over 7.5 Rushing Attempts (-130)
For our first pick in this week’s column, we're going with Josh Allen to exceed his rushing attempts prop in what is a familiar matchup against the Chiefs. This has been a tried-and-true play over the years, as the Bills have consistently used Allen as a runner in the biggest games of their season. In fact, Allen has consistently exceeded this number in each of his last six meetings against Kansas City, dating back to 2022.
We know that Buffalo’s offense has struggled in the passing game as well, and Joe Brady will often call on his quarterback to pick up the first down with his legs in certain third-down situations. Kneel-downs also help in this market, so if the Bills win the game, we can expect at least one or two rushing attempts at the end from Allen to close out the proceedings. Either way, Allen should record at least eight rushing attempts in a huge game against KC.
PICK #2: Jahmyr Gibbs Over 99.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-110)
The Lions have a very favorable matchup on Sunday, and a big part of why is how Detroit should dominate the game on the ground. After all, the Vikings rush defense is 23rd in EPA per rush and 24th in explosive play rate allowed. Additionally, they're giving up 108.29 rushing yards per game to opposing RBs, which is 24th in the league.
There should be plenty of holes for Gibbs to run through, and we can't overstate how important he is to the success of this offense in terms of racking up yards through the air, especially after the catch. Look for the Alabama product to run wild on Sunday.
PICK #3: Bo Nix to Throw an Interception (-120)
For our final pick in this week’s column, we will target Bo Nix to throw an interception in this matchup against the Houston Texans. While Nix has certainly been playing very well since leading a miraculous fourth-quarter comeback over the Giants a few weeks ago, his performances this season are not without flaw.
The second-year player has thrown five interceptions already this season after throwing 12 a season ago, so turnovers are always on the menu when Nix is in the pocket. Now, he has a difficult matchup against a Texans defense that is tied for fifth in turnovers forced this season. It wouldn’t be a shock to see Nix turn the ball over for the second straight week.
