NFL Week 17 Touchdown Scorer best bets

We have an epic holiday week on our hands with games spread across five days – Wednesday (Christmas), Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The weekend slate begins with the Chargers visiting the Patriots on Saturday at 1:00 PM ET and wraps up with Sunday Night Football between the Falcons and Commanders. All in all, it is a Week 17 lineup that is riddled with importance – during which each team’s best players will be faced with the pressure of stepping up when it matters most. Who will find the end zone this weekend? Let’s take a look at the best NFL Week 17 touchdown scorer bets to make.
Predictions
Pick #1 – Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts to score a touchdown (-160)
Pick #2 – Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons to score a touchdown (+160)
Pick #3 – Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers to score the first touchdown (+550)
PICK #1: Jonathan Taylor to score a touchdown (-160)
Congratulations to all fantasy owners who had Jonathan Taylor on their rosters for their respective Week 16 playoff matchups. Taylor went wild to the tune of 218 yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries as Indianapolis outlasted Tennessee 38-30. The Wisconsin product has now scored nine total touchdowns during the 2024 campaign (eight rushing, one receiving). Up next for the Colts is a Sunday afternoon date with the Giants, who rank second-to-last in the NFL in rushing defense (142.6 yards allowed per contest). They are allowing 4.8 yards per attempt (fifth-most) and have surrendered 16 TDs on the ground after watching Atlanta’s Bijan Robinson victimize them twice this past week. Count on Taylor maintaining momentum from last week’s outburst.
PICK #2: Drake London to score a touchdown (+160)
It’s Michael Penix Jr. now throwing the football to Drake London in Atlanta’s offense instead of Kirk Cousins. Penix has not yet tossed a touchdown pass in his brief career, but his first start was encouraging in a 34-7 rout of the Giants this past Sunday. It’s only a matter of time before the former Washington standout gets his first, and don’t be surprised if London is the beneficiary this weekend. The former first-round pick out of USC recorded seven touchdowns this year in addition to 978 receiving yards on 83 receptions and 127 targets. London most recently scored in Week 15 at Las Vegas and should have another great opportunity against the Commanders, who have allowed 24 passing touchdowns in 2024. Only eight teams have given up more TDs through the air.
PICK #3: Chuba Hubbard to score the first touchdown (+550)
Since failing to score in the first two games of the season, Hubbard has been a touchdown machine. All 11 of his TDs have come in the last 13 outings, including seven in his last seven. Last week against Arizona he went off for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. It should also not be overlooked that Hubbard has been the game’s first touchdown scorer four times during the 2024 campaign. The former Oklahoma State standout now faces a Tampa Bay defense that is solid but unspectacular against the run. Moreover, with all of the pressure on the Bucs – who really need a win to stay in NFC South contention – it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Panthers get off to a fast start. The last time Hubbard visited Tampa, he erupted for 104 yards and two scores. At +550 odds, Carolina’s RB1 has good value to put the first touchdown on the scoreboard.
