We have arrived at the business end of the 2024 NFL regular season with only three weeks remaining on the schedule. Results are becoming increasingly important, both in the standings and in fantasy football. If you are a fantasy owner who either missed the playoffs or has already been eliminated, hope is not lost when you can spice up your Week 16 viewing with some touchdown scorer bets. There are plenty of opportunities, too, on a schedule that includes Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Commanders, Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers vs Miami Dolphins.

Who will find the end zone this weekend? Let’s take a look at the best NFL Week 16 touchdown scorer bets to make.

Predictions

Pick #1 - Joe Mixon, RB, Houston Texans to score a touchdown (-120)

Pick #2 – Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Arizona Cardinals to score a touchdown (+140)

Pick #3 - Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers to score the first touchdown (+650)

PICK #1: Joe Mixon (HOU) to score a touchdown (-120)

A Saturday special pits the Texans against the Chiefs and it’s a matchup in which Joe Mixon should be able to excel. Kansas City’s defense is stellar against the pass, allowing a mere 6.9 yards per attempt and a modest 18 total touchdowns. The Chiefs defend the run well, too, but they have given up a rushing touchdown in each of the past two weeks. Meanwhile, Mixon has scored 12 touchdowns this year – 11 rushing and one receiving. The Oklahoma product endured one of his worst games of the season last weekend (23 yards and zero TDs). Following similar duds in Week 2 and Week 12, Mixon bounced back with 100+ yards and a touchdown both times. He has found the end zone on 10 occasions in the last nine games and has every reason to continue his fine form this weekend.

PICK #2: Marvin Harrison Jr. (ARZ) to score a touchdown (+140)

Marvin Harrison Jr.’s rookie campaign has been inconsistent, but his overall numbers are solid: 47 catches on 92 targets for 687 yards and seven touchdowns. He has scored in three of the last seven games, so he is coming down the stretch in decent enough form even if his yardage numbers have not jumped off the page. The former Ohio State standout is now going up against a Carolina Panthers secondary that is among the worst in the business. Carolina has allowed the most passing touchdowns (27, tied with three other teams) while recording the seventh-fewest interceptions (seven). The Cardinals absolutely need to win this game, so count on quarterback Kyler Murray honing in on his favorite target early and often on Sunday. Well into plus money, MHJ has good value to score a TD this weekend.

PICK #3: Mike Evans (TB) to score the first touchdown (+650)

Despite being sidelined for three games and missing most of another, Mike Evans has scored nine touchdowns in 2024 to go along with his 52 receptions on 79 targets for 749 yards. The 31-year-old has found the end zone seven times in the last eight contests after doing so twice during the Bucs’ 40-17 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers this past Sunday. It’s also worth noting that Evans has been the first touchdown scorer four times this season, an especially impressive number since he has missed three weeks. He now faces a Dallas Cowboys defense that is second-to-last league wide in yards per pass attempt allowed (8.0) and has surrendered 21 touchdowns through the air. Don’t be surprised if Evans puts points on the board right away for Tampa Bay on Sunday Night Football.
