The midweek NBA slate is heating up, and Wednesday brings an exciting opportunity for player prop bettors. With high-scoring matchups on tap, this is the perfect time to capitalize. Here are three picks that could cash big and give you a shot at King of the Court glory. See all of the odds, line movements and trends for today's NBA matchups here.
NBA Player Prop Predictions
- Kyrie Irving Over 34.5 PTS + REB + AST (-110)
- Zach LaVine Over 27.5 Points (-115)
- Trae Young Over 12.5 Assists (+105)
Pick 1: Kyrie Irving Over 34.5 PTS + REB + AST (-110)
The Mavericks (22-18) face off against the Pelicans (9-32), and both teams are on the second night of a back-to-back. While Kyrie Irving struggled in his return from injury last night, scoring only 11 points on 4-of-18 shooting against the Nuggets, a much friendlier matchup awaits tonight. The Pelicans rank 28th in defensive rating, and with Luka Dončić sidelined until February 2, Irving will take the reins as Dallas’ offensive leader.
Irving’s season averages 23.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists are solid, but we expect these numbers to surge with the increased workload. With tired legs on both sides, his ability to create his own shot and facilitate for teammates should lead to a monster performance. For those aiming at the King of the Court promotion, his P+R+A potential makes him a strong candidate to dominate the stat sheet tonight.
Pick 2: Zach LaVine Over 27.5 Points (-115)
The Bulls (18-22) host the Hawks (20-19) in a game projected to be the highest-scoring of the night with a total of 244.5 points. Both teams rank in the bottom 10 in defensive rating and top three in pace, setting the stage for a track meet. LaVine has been on fire in January, averaging 32.1 points per game over his last seven contests. While his streak of scoring 31+ ended last night, he still managed 25 points against the Pelicans, demonstrating his consistency.
LaVine averages 27.0 PPG against Atlanta this season, and his current aggression (20+ shot attempts in every January game) suggests he’ll have no trouble clearing this line. The Hawks’ 27th-ranked defense in January and their struggles defending the three-point line (league-worst in made threes allowed per game and opponent three-point percentage) only enhance LaVine’s scoring upside. Add in the King of the Court promotion, and LaVine’s scoring prowess makes him a strong contender to post a high P+R+A total.
Pick 3: Trae Young Over 12.5 Assists (+105)
Trae Young, the NBA’s assists leader at 11.9 per game, is primed for another elite playmaking performance against the Bulls. In their three matchups this season, Young has racked up 13, 13 and 16 assists, consistently exploiting Chicago’s 23rd-ranked defense.
With both teams on the second night of a back-to-back and the game expected to be a high-scoring affair, Young’s ability to orchestrate the Hawks offense will be critical. The Bulls recently allowed Tyrese Haliburton to tally 13 assists in a similar scenario, underscoring their vulnerability against elite passers. Back Young to surpass this line and solidify his chances in the King of the Court competition.
