NBA Final Day Picks 4/12

The final day of the NBA regular season always delivers chaos. With all 30 teams in action, playoff seeding, Play-In positioning and lottery odds are all still in flux. There is value across the board, and we’re targeting three spots where roster context and form give us a clear betting edge.

NBA Predictions

Pick #1: Toronto Raptors -18.5 over Brooklyn Nets (-110)

Pick #2: Philadelphia 76ers -16.5 over Milwaukee Bucks (-110)

Pick #3: Denver Nuggets +4.5 over San Antonio Spurs (-110)

PICK #1: Raptors -18.5 over Nets (-110)

Toronto enters the final day with everything to play for. A win guarantees a top-six seed and avoids the volatility of the Play-In Tournament, while a loss opens the door to slipping into that dangerous territory. Luckily, they end with a Brooklyn team that is far more concerned with lottery positioning than winning a basketball game.

The Nets are essentially locked into a top-three lottery slot, but a loss here could improve their odds even further, forcing a coin-flip scenario with the Pacers if they defeat the Pistons, who have already locked up the top seed in the East. Expect a thin rotation, limited minutes for key contributors and a general lack of resistance if things get out of hand early.

Toronto, meanwhile, should come out focused and aggressive. They’ve already dropped a game recently that would have improved their seeding outlook, so there’s no reason to expect complacency here. Even though Brooklyn won the last meeting by 15 back in December, this is an entirely different context. With seeding stakes, the season series on the line and a massive talent gap in terms of available players, this sets up as a blowout script. 

PICK #2: 76ers -16.5 over Bucks (-110)

Philadelphia still has a pathway to improving its Play-In Tournament positioning, potentially jumping into the #7 seed with the right combination of results. That would give them two chances to make the playoffs instead of one.

The Bucks, on the other hand, are incentivized to lose. A defeat here could push them into a tie with the division rival Bulls in the lottery standings. Combine that with a depleted roster — likely no Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Porter Jr., or Ryan Rollins — and it’s hard to see Milwaukee putting up much resistance.

Tyrese Maxey and Paul George returned to the 76ers in late March, and this team is now looking to build rhythm heading into the postseason. After dropping three straight, they’ve stabilized with a win and should be motivated to stack another strong performance.

PICK #3: Nuggets +4.5 over Spurs (-110)

The Spurs are locked into the No. 2 seed and have nothing to gain, while the Nuggets still have plenty at stake.

Denver enters this game on an 11-game winning streak and needs a victory to secure the #3 seed. That alone should ensure a full-effort performance from a team that has been one of the hottest in the league.

Even more telling is how these teams have matched up this season. All three meetings have been tight, high-scoring battles. Denver has scored exactly 136 points in each game, covering this number every time, including two wins (136-134 and 136-131) and one loss (139-136). They’ve proven they can go toe-to-toe with San Antonio’s pace and offensive firepower.

With the Spurs likely to manage minutes and prioritize health while Denver pushes for seeding, this line feels inflated. Expect another close game, and for the Nuggets to once again do enough to cover, if not win outright.
