Lions vs Ravens NFL Week 3 MNF Picks

Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season wraps up with a compelling inter-conference showdown on Monday Night Football, as the Baltimore Ravens host the Detroit Lions at M&T Bank Stadium.

Both teams sit at 1-1 heading into the primetime clash, but momentum feels slightly different on each sideline. The Ravens bounced back in Week 2 with a strong win over Cleveland after a tough Week 1 loss to the Bills, while the Lions dismantled the Bears in a game that never felt close, putting up 52 points on their former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

Kickoff is set for 8:15 PM ET on ESPN, with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on the call. With two playoff-caliber rosters and a handful of stars on both sides of the ball, this one has all the ingredients for a Monday night thriller. Let’s break down our Lions vs Ravens predictions and highlight three betting angles to consider for MNF.

Pick #1: Ravens -4.5 over Lions (-110)

Baltimore reminded everyone what they’re capable of over the last few weeks, even in a loss in Week 1 to the Bills. Against the Browns, Lamar Jackson threw four touchdown passes and looked in total command of the offense, while the Ravens' defense put together a complete performance, forcing turnovers and holding Cleveland to just 17 points. This was in a game where the Ravens could not get Derrick Henry going on the ground, with him only rushing for 23 yards.

Detroit’s offense had its way with Chicago, but that defense hasn’t exactly been a brick wall. This is a much tougher challenge — especially on the road in primetime. The Ravens have won 11 of their last 14 home games and have a solid track record in early-season matchups like this one.

If Baltimore plays with the same urgency and efficiency they showed last week, it’s hard to see the Lions keeping up, especially being on the road in an outdoor stadium, where Jared Goff sometimes struggles. With Jackson firing on all cylinders and the defense flying around, the Ravens should be able to cover the 4.5-point spread.

Pick #2: Over 53.5 (-110)

This has all the makings of a high-scoring game. Both offenses are clicking: the Ravens just dropped 41 points on the Browns, while the Lions showed last week they can still put up points under new offensive coordinator John Morton.

Lamar Jackson has found a rhythm with his weapons, with Zay Flowers seemingly taking another step forward in his game. The Ravens have shown they can score quickly and often. On the other side, Jared Goff continues to keep the Lions offense efficient and balanced, with explosive options at receiver and a run game that can eat up yardage.

Neither defense is bad, but both have shown they can give up yards - especially in up-tempo situations. If this game turns into a track meet in the second half, which is very possible, 54+ total points feels well within reach.

Pick #3: Sam LaPorta under 47.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Sam LaPorta is one of the better young tight ends in the league, but this feels like the kind of game where he could get lost in the shuffle.

The Lions have a deep group of playmakers — Amon-Ra St. Brown is the focal point, Jameson Williams stretches the field, and Jahmyr Gibbs is heavily involved as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. With so many mouths to feed, LaPorta can sometimes take a backseat, especially in games where Detroit leans more on their receivers and running backs.

Baltimore’s defense, while not shutting down tight ends entirely this year, still has guys like Roquan Smith and Kyle Hamilton in coverage — two elite athletes who can make life tough over the middle. They're physical, fast and rarely out of position. It’s not that LaPorta can’t make plays, but in a game where Detroit may be playing from behind or forced to take more shots downfield, his role could be more limited.

The number’s not huge at 47.5, but it still feels a bit high given the matchup and how Detroit tends to spread the ball around. Plus, LaPorta is coming off a game where he caught just three balls for 26 yards in a game where the Lions scored 52 points. The under is a strong lean here.
