Odds as of 7:21 AM ET, Oct 24, 2026
No. 18 LSU (5-2, 2-2 SEC) visits Auburn (4-2, 2-2) at noon ET Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala. LSU's defense has done most of the work this season. It shut out Mississippi State 31-0 last week, held Texas A&M to six points and has allowed 97 points in six games against FBS opponents. On the road, though, LSU is 0-2, after a 32-24 loss at Ole Miss and a 35-34 overtime loss at Kentucky.
Auburn won 27-24 at Georgia last week when Alex McPherson hit a 34-yard field goal as time expired. Byrum Brown ran 26 times for 115 yards and a touchdown, and Auburn ran the ball 46 times. Its two losses came by five points to Florida and by 10 at Tennessee. The Auburn defense has picked off a pass in every game, and Sam Leavitt has thrown seven interceptions in six games against FBS opponents. LSU is the road favorite and the line has moved slightly its way since opening, with 69% of spread bets and 71% of the money on LSU. The forecast calls for sun, temperatures in the mid-60s at kickoff and a wind around 10 mph.
We expect Auburn to move the ball the way it did at Georgia, with Brown running the offense and Chas Nimrod, his receiver from South Florida, catching what he throws. Both picks ride on that Auburn offense.
LSU vs. Auburn Predictions
- Pick #1: Byrum Brown Anytime Touchdown (-145)
- Pick #2: Chas Nimrod 40+ Receiving Yards (-133)
PICK #1: Byrum Brown Anytime Touchdown (-145)
Brown is Auburn's goal-line back as much as its quarterback. He has run for a touchdown in five of Auburn's six games, and in the sixth, against Southern Miss, he caught a 5-yard touchdown pass. Five of Auburn's eight rushing touchdowns are his, and his scoring runs over the last four games went for 21, 2, 7 and 5 yards. Auburn's game notes have him with a rushing touchdown in 13 of his last 14 games, going back to last season at South Florida.
He is getting plenty of carries. Brown ran 19 times for 107 yards at Tennessee and 26 times for 115 at Georgia, and he is the first Auburn quarterback with back-to-back 100-yard rushing games since Nick Marshall in 2013.
LSU stops the run well, but running quarterbacks have scored on it. Ole Miss's Trinidad Chambliss and Kentucky's Kenny Minchey both ran for touchdowns in LSU's two losses. Starting linebacker Whit Weeks hasn't played since Sept. 26 and is listed out again.
The -145 price works out to a 59.2% chance. Brown has scored in every game and gets the ball when Auburn is close, so we have him above that. The risk is another day like Tennessee, where Auburn scored 14, although Brown still ran one in. LSU's pass rush could also stall drives before they reach the red zone.
PICK #2: Chas Nimrod 40+ Receiving Yards (-133)
Nimrod has reached 40 receiving yards in five of six games: 41 against Baylor, 52 against Southern Miss, 95 against Florida, 52 against Vanderbilt and 60 at Georgia. He finished with 33 at Tennessee. He has at least three catches in every game and has scored in three of the last four.
His share of the offense is what makes the number reachable. Brown doesn't throw for much (150 yards at Georgia, 140 against Vanderbilt), but Nimrod has 240 of Auburn's 744 receiving yards in SEC games, about a third. A 150-yard passing day at that rate gets him close to 50.
A -133 price implies a 57.1% chance. The risk is LSU's pass rush. If Brown spends the afternoon scrambling or getting sacked, Nimrod's catches dry up, as they did at Tennessee.
