Odds as of 7:12 AM ET, Nov 8, 2026

The Giants (4-2-1) lead the NFC East and visit the Eagles (2-6) at 1:00 PM ET in Philadelphia. Philadelphia has lost six straight and has changed quarterbacks again. Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve with blood clots, Tanner McKee lost all three of his starts and was benched, and Joe Milton III is expected to make his first start for Philadelphia. He won't have DeVonta Smith (hamstring) or Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), who are both out. J.J. McCarthy is in line to make his second start for the Giants, who come off their bye without Tyrone Tracy Jr. (injured reserve) and probably without Cam Skattebo, who is doubtful with a hamstring injury. New York is a 3-point favorite, the total is 38.5, and the forecast calls for sunshine, about 60 degrees and a west wind around 10 mph.

We like the Giants' passing game and not the Eagles'. McCarthy gets a secondary missing two defensive backs, and Malik Nabers is healthy. Milton gets one of the best pass defenses in the league and a receiver group that hasn't done much without Smith and Wicks. If New York moves the ball through the air and Philadelphia's fill-in receivers stay quiet, both picks win.

Giants vs. Eagles Predictions

  • Pick #1: J.J. McCarthy Over 210.5 Passing Yards (-112)
  • Pick #2: Darius Cooper Under 28.5 Receiving Yards (-113)

PICK #1: J.J. McCarthy Over 210.5 Passing Yards (-112)

McCarthy has cleared 210.5 in both of his games with the Giants, and one of them was a relief appearance. He came on in the fourth quarter against New Orleans and threw for 243 yards on 11 of 21 passing, then made his first start at Houston and went 20 of 28 for 252 yards in a 27-21 overtime win. That's two games, so it shows his range more than a track record.

Philadelphia ranks in the bottom third of the league in passing yards allowed, and its secondary is short-handed: cornerback Jonathan Jones (hamstring) and defensive back Michael Carter (abdomen) are out, along with linebacker Jihaad Campbell. Nabers had four straight 100-yard games before the bye. He missed a practice with a knee issue but finished the week as a full participant, and John Harbaugh expects him to play without limits. At -112, the Over implies a 52.8% chance.

What could cap his attempts is New York's own run game. Philadelphia allows 131.9 rushing yards per game, and if Devin Singletary, the expected lead back with Skattebo doubtful, gets going, the Giants may not need McCarthy to throw much. We doubt a backfield without Tracy and probably Skattebo carries a whole game, though. McCarthy is the expected starter but hasn't been officially confirmed.

PICK #2: Darius Cooper Under 28.5 Receiving Yards (-113)

Cooper has been on the field for almost every snap since Smith and Wicks both went down, and the yards haven't followed. In the last two games, with neither of them available, he played 92% and 96% of the offensive snaps and caught three of nine targets for 17 and 19 yards. Add the game before that, a 9-yard day, and he has stayed under 28.5 three times in a row. In the six games where he's had a real share of the snaps, he's under in four.

Now he gets a quarterback making his first start for Philadelphia against a Giants defense allowing 184.9 net passing yards per game, third-fewest in the league. Philadelphia's line has had trouble keeping pressure off its quarterback, and Milton's legs are one reason the Eagles turned to him. Scrambles don't add receiving yards. At -113, the Under implies a 53.1% chance.

A single deep ball could sink it. Milton has a big arm, and Cooper turned two catches into 71 yards against Jacksonville, one of them a 62-yarder. We're less concerned about the Eagles falling behind and throwing more, because they lost both of those last two games by 17 points and Cooper still finished under 20 yards. If McKee ends up starting instead, Cooper's last three games all came with him at quarterback.
