Sunday Night Football in Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season is a showdown in the NFC between the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers. Both teams have very real playoff aspirations. The Falcons may not lead their division due to the Buccaneers’ impressive start, but they are 3-2 and have won two games in a row. Despite dealing with all kinds of injury issues, the 49ers are 4-2 and currently own the tiebreaker atop the NFC West.

With this Falcons vs. 49ers SNF contest set for 8:20 pm ET on NBC, it’s time to break down the odds and discuss the best bets to make.

The Falcons will play on a short week after a Monday Night Football assignment, but with the kind of momentum they have following a big win over Buffalo, they might as well get right back out there and keep things flowing. It’s not as if head coach Raheem Morris and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich need a whole bunch of time to prepare for what San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan brings to the table. There is plenty of familiarity between these two outfits. Atlanta does two things great: run the football and play defense. That is a recipe to win in the NFL, especially on the road. Meanwhile, the 49ers lost both defensive end Nick Bosa and linebacker Fred Warner for the remainder of the year. Tight end George Kittle could return, while quarterback Brock Purdy and receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings are all questionable. Let’s back the Falcons to win outright and not bother with the 1.5 points.

PICK #2: Falcons vs. 49ers Under 47.5 (-120)  Click Here to Bet

Atlanta is thought of as an offensive juggernaut following last week’s performance against Buffalo. The truth, however, is that the Falcons are only No. 27 league wide in scoring at 20 points per game. A lot of that has to do with an aberration in the form of a shutout loss at Carolina, but there is no doubt that the offense is inconsistent. It’s understandable, too, given that Michael Penix Jr. has made only nine starts in his NFL career. The passing attack is lagging far behind the run game, and that will likely be the case all season long. On the other side of the ball, Atlanta is far more consistent. The Falcons are No. 1 in total defense (253.4 yards per game), No. 1 in passing defense (139.4) and No. 2 in opponent completion percentage (57.7). As for San Francisco’s defense, it has overcome injuries to allow a modest 21.3 points per contest.

PICK #3: Bijan Robinson (ATL) Over 77.5 rushing yards (-110)  Click Here to Bet

Following Robinson’s barrage on Sunday Night Football in Week 6, the market has not adjusted as much as you would expect. Robinson has rushed for at least 143 yards twice this season and only once has he been held to fewer than 72 yards. The Niners are nothing more than in the middle of the pack in rushing defense, just as they were last year. It doesn’t help that their defense is depleted by injuries. The Falcons have finally figured out their identity on offense (how could you not when you have Robinson in the backfield?), so the former Texas standout should get a ton of carries on Sunday night.
