Eagles vs. Commanders Prediction, NFL Week 8 SNF Odds & Best Bets (11/1)

Fact checked at 8:22 AM ET, Nov 1, 2026
Odds as of 7:28 AM ET, Nov 1, 2026
The Eagles (2-5) visit the Commanders (1-4-1) at Northwest Stadium for an 8:20 PM ET kickoff on NBC. Philadelphia has lost five straight, is on a short week and has Tanner McKee making his third straight start for Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season with blood clots. We expect Washington, rested off its bye, to score enough to keep the Eagles chasing, with Philadelphia answering through volume and short throws. That gives us Dallas Goedert's receiving yards, McKee's passing yards and Stefon Diggs in the end zone.
Washington was a 3.5-point favorite at one major book before the Eagles lost 38-21 to Dallas and is now -6.5 (-108). The total was 40.5 then and is 40.5 now. DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks are out again, and Saquon Barkley is playing through hamstring and back injuries. Washington has lost Terry McLaurin for the year and is without Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw inside.
Eagles vs. Commanders Predictions
- Pick #1: Dallas Goedert Over 43.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
- Pick #2: Tanner McKee Over 197.5 Passing Yards (-111)
- Pick #3: Stefon Diggs Anytime TD (+200)
PICK #1: Dallas Goedert Over 43.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
Washington's worst coverage problem lines up with the Eagle McKee keeps finding. The Commanders allow 73.5 receiving yards a game to tight ends and have given up eight touchdowns to the position, second most in the league. Goedert burned them for four catches, 77 yards and two scores in the opener, with Hurts throwing.
McKee has targeted him 15 times in two starts: 6 catches for 61 yards against Carolina, 5 for 48 against Dallas, on 81% and 73% of the snaps. The receivers left are rookie Makai Lemon, Darius Cooper and Hollywood Brown. Washington blitzes on more than 40% of dropbacks, second only to Minnesota, which should push McKee toward quick throws to his tight end. He has no designation after full practices all week with a knee listed, and the price implies 53.1%.
This is a bet on his current role. He reached this number in only four of 16 games last season, playoffs included, and he had 38 on nine targets against Jacksonville with Hurts. The 48 cleared by just 4.5 yards, and two starts isn't much. Trey Amos should play full-time at corner, rookie linebacker Sonny Styles has held up in coverage, and the blitz could keep Goedert in to block. Most books void the prop if he sits.
PICK #2: Tanner McKee Over 197.5 Passing Yards (-111)
If the Eagles are chasing, McKee has to throw, and this number is modest. He went 26 of 45 for 215 yards against Carolina and 23 of 35 for 211 against Dallas, double-digit losses in which Philadelphia scored 14 and 21. Washington allows 254 passing yards a game, 28th in the league. The Over implies 52.6%.
The backfield adds to the volume. Barkley played 15% of the snaps against Dallas and got in one limited practice this week after missing two. Dameon Pierce, who had 14 carries in that game, is on injured reserve. Calm wind and mid-40s won't get in the way.
The blitz is what could sink this if those quick throws don't get out. Carolina got to McKee with it in his first start, though he still threw for 215, while Dallas blitzed on only 10% of his drops. He has cleared this line by less than 20 yards both times. Barkley also ran for 62 yards and a score on seven carries in those limited snaps, and Washington is thin up the middle now, so a good night on the ground would cut McKee's attempts. Those two starts are all we have this season. If he doesn't play, most books void this one too.
PICK #3: Stefon Diggs Anytime TD (+200)
The points that keep Philadelphia chasing have to come from somewhere, and Diggs has been Washington's finisher. His four touchdown catches lead the team, and he has scored in all three games he has played with Jayden Daniels: once against the Eagles in the opener, twice against Dallas (the second from Marcus Mariota after Daniels was hurt) and once against San Francisco. At +200 you need him to score 33.3% of the time.
With McLaurin gone, Diggs is the top target left, and he has drawn at least six targets in every game. Philadelphia has allowed the most catches a game to slot receivers and has only 8 sacks, so Daniels should have time.
Three games is a small record, and he didn't score in the two games Mariota started. Washington ranks 32nd on third down, Daniels has two rushing touchdowns of his own, and Antonio Williams and Chig Okonkwo are both in line for more work. Diggs missed the first practice of the week with hand and hamstring issues, then went full twice and carries no designation. Most books void the bet if he sits.
