Eagles vs Commanders NFL Week 16 Best Picks

The Saturday slate for Week 16 in the NFL season includes a showdown in the NFC East between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders. Philadelphia is well on its way to another division crown, even though its 9-5 record is thoroughly unspectacular. Fortunately for the Eagles, everyone else in the East is somewhere between mediocre and terrible. At 4-10, Washington is much closer to the “terrible” end of that spectrum.

With Saturday’s contest set for 5:00 pm ET on FOX, it’s time to break down the odds and discuss the best bets to make.

Eagles vs Commanders Predictions

PICK #1: Philadelphia Eagles -6.5 (-110) Click Here to Bet

It’s not often that a team is already eliminated from playoff contention before it has faced one of its division rivals even once in a given year. But due to a quirky schedule and their own poor play, that is the case for the Commanders, who face the Eagles this weekend and again in the season finale. With nothing to play for (other than a high draft pick, perhaps damaging a rival’s playoff seeding), Washington has shut down oft-injured quarterback Jayden Daniels for the remainder of the 2025 campaign.

That means it will be Marcus Mariota under center, which is nothing new for head coach Dan Quinn’s crew. Mariota is a serviceable back, but has not been great this season (10 touchdown passes and seven interceptions), and the Commanders are 2-8 in his 10 appearances. With the Eagles having gotten back on track with a 31-0 rout of the Raiders last week, this should be a relatively lopsided affair.

PICK #2: Under 44.5 Total Points (-110) Click Here to Bet

The Eagles are sprinting to the NFC East title largely thanks to their defense. They have not given up more than 24 points in a game since Week 6. In its three most recent victories, Philadelphia’s opponents have scored a total of 26 points – a stretch that includes defeats of Detroit and Green Bay.

Philly is tied for fifth in yards per pass attempt allowed, 11th in sacks, and eighth in turnover margin. As for the Eagles’ offense, its problems are well documented. QB Jalen Hurts has turned the ball over seven times over the last three weeks (five interceptions and two fumbles lost), and he was picked off a ridiculous four times during a Week 14 setback against the Chargers. Before last Sunday’s victory over Las Vegas, head coach Nick Sirianni’s squad had scored 21 points or fewer in five consecutive contests.

PICK #3: AJ Brown Over 60.5 Receiving Yards (-114) Click Here to Bet

Although Philadelphia has endured more than its fair share of offensive struggles in 2025, there is reason for optimism in Brown’s production on Saturday – especially since this is a buy-low opportunity at a modest 60.5 number. The Ole Miss product has taken off since his midseason gripes about a lack of involvement. Brown has delivered three 100-yard performances in the past four games, and during this stretch, he has scored four touchdowns.

This has been a favorable head-to-head matchup with Washington for the 28-year-old, too. He torched the Commanders in the nation’s capital last year, making eight receptions on a whopping 15 targets for 97 yards and a touchdown. In the NFC Championship, he posted almost identical numbers: six catches for 96 yards and a score. Brown has every reason to achieve more success since Washington ranks No. 29 in the NFL against the pass and is dead last in yards per pass attempt allowed.
