This game marks the end of the opening round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs. And it’s a primetime Monday game, between two primetime teams. Dallas heads into this as 2.5 point favourites at the time of writing. We’ve done a deep dive and found our best bet, best prop and a same game parlay. Let’s dive in.

Dallas Cowboys @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The discussion around this game seems to focus on Dak v Brady. The most of it is focussed on Dak’s lack of recent form. He’s the league leader in turnovers. Last weekend’s game against the Commanders was case in point, where he had just 14 completions and a Pick 6. He’s had a total of 15 turnovers since week 8. It all sounds and looks really bad. But we think this might be covering up a bigger and bettor story. Dallas are averaging 34.6 points per game since his return from injury.

He’s also thrown for 25 touchdown passes since Week 7, the most in the NFL. He has completion rate of 71%. It seems the turnovers are just inherent in the offensive style of play that the Cowboys are going with. The even bigger picture is that the Cowboys are 5 and 1 in the last 6 where Dak has started and thrown an interception. They’re also 8 and 2 since he’s come back from injury.

While Brady has been warming up of late, it shouldn’t disctract us from the fact they come into the Playoffs with an 8 and 9 losing record. Coming up against a team that’s 12-5, the -3 line in our opinion.

Top Performing bettor Reign80 (324-248) is picking the Cowboys at -142. Another top performer burdspencer (173-143) is picking the Cowboys at -3. We’re tailing here.

Pick: Cowboys -3

Best Prop

Ezekiel Elliott has scored at least one touchdown in nine of his last 10 appearances. Granted he didn’t score last week, but prior to that you have to go all the way back to the Rams game on 10/10 for a clean touchdown sheet.

Giving us further confidence is that the Cowboys are the overall leader in the NFL in touchdown percentage (71%). The Buccaneers defense is ranked a lowly 26th in allowing the opposing team for Touchdowns after reaching the 20 yard line (62%).
