Colorado vs. Oklahoma State Prediction, CFB Week 8 Odds & Best Bets (10/24)

Fact checked at 7:10 AM ET, Oct 24, 2026
Odds as of 7:07 AM ET, Oct 24, 2026
Colorado (2-4) brings a four-game losing streak to Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater for a 7:00 PM ET kickoff. Since a 52-21 win over Weber State, the Buffaloes have scored 7 at Northwestern, 13 at Baylor, 7 against Texas Tech and 24 against Utah. Isaac Wilson, who took over at quarterback in the second half at Baylor, is expected to make his third start. Oklahoma State (4-2) is coming off a 35-32 loss at Houston. Drew Mestemaker has thrown for 1,940 yards and 16 touchdowns, with at least 300 yards in five straight games. The Cowboys are 13.5-point favorites and the total is 56.5.
Colorado's defense is better than its record. Opponents average about 3.5 yards per carry against it, and nobody has thrown for more than 278 yards on it this season. The problem is the end zone: its last four opponents threw nine touchdown passes. So we're leaving Oklahoma State's yardage and the spread alone and backing the two receivers who catch most of Mestemaker's touchdowns. Wyatt Young and Justin Bowick have 11 of his 16 touchdown catches between them, and both bets can cash in a 31-20 Cowboys win just as well as in a rout.
Colorado vs. Oklahoma State Predictions
- Pick #1: Wyatt Young Anytime Touchdown (-120)
- Pick #2: Justin Bowick Anytime Touchdown (-150)
PICK #1: Wyatt Young Anytime Touchdown (-120)
Young has scored in five straight games, against Oregon, Murray State, West Virginia, UCF and Houston. He leads Oklahoma State with 32 catches for 561 yards, 93.5 a game, and the catches are steady against FBS defenses: eight catches at Tulsa, five against Oregon, eight at West Virginia and five each against UCF and Houston.
His last three touchdowns came from 6, 5 and 2 yards out. Mestemaker has been finding him near the goal line, and against a Colorado defense that's stout against the run and leaky through the air, that red-zone role matters.
The -120 price implies a 54.5% chance. Young has scored in four of Oklahoma State's five games against FBS teams, and he's cheaper than Bowick even though he has more catches and more yards. His one blank against an FBS team was the opener, a 24-10 loss at Tulsa in which the Cowboys managed one touchdown. A slow offensive night is the real risk here. Oklahoma State trailed at halftime at Tulsa, West Virginia and Houston.
PICK #2: Justin Bowick Anytime Touchdown (-150)
Bowick leads the team with six touchdown catches and has scored in five of six games. That includes the Cowboys' only touchdown at Tulsa and the late 8-yarder that got them within 35-32 at Houston. The game he missed was the 39-31 win over Oregon, and he still caught five passes for 81 yards that day.
He scores without piling up catches. He has had between two and six in every game against an FBS opponent, 98 yards against UCF and 27 at Houston, and he found the end zone in both. Five of his six touchdowns came from 16 yards or longer.
At -150 you're paying for a 60% chance. He has scored in four of five games against FBS teams and five of six overall, and Colorado has been stingier with passing yards than with passing touchdowns. Volume is the worry. A receiver with this few catches can get shut out on a night when Young, Caleb Hawkins or Terrence Lewis catches the scores.
Both picks need Oklahoma State to finish drives through the air, so an off night like Tulsa hurts both. The Cowboys have scored four offensive touchdowns in each of their last four games against FBS teams. Repeat that, and there's a good chance at least one of these two scores and a fair chance both do.
