Celtics vs. Magic Prediction, NBA Odds & Best Bets (11/1)

Fact checked at 8:19 AM ET, Nov 1, 2026
Odds as of 7:29 AM ET, Nov 1, 2026
The Celtics (4-1) visit the Magic (2-3) at Kia Center for a 3:30 PM ET tip on League Pass. Orlando is without Paolo Banchero (ankle), Jalen Suggs (knee), Jonathan Isaac, Noah Penda and Izaiyah Nelson on the latest injury report, and it now leans hard on the three-pointer. Both of its wins without Banchero came with 18 made threes. The game with 10 was a 30-point loss. We expect those shots to come back down against Boston, so we're on the Celtics to cover and Paul George to collect the misses.
Boston has Devin Carter out and Mitchell Robinson questionable for rest.
Celtics vs. Magic Predictions
- Pick #1: Celtics -6.5 (-110)
- Pick #2: Paul George Over 4.5 Rebounds (-107)
PICK #1: Celtics -6.5 (-110)
In three games without Banchero, Orlando has made 46 of 111 threes: 18-for-42 at New York, then 10-for-35 and 18-for-34 at Toronto. That's 41.4%, against 35.3% for the season, from a team that takes 46.2% of its shots from deep. Franz Wagner is 5-for-27. Boston's opponents are shooting 33.5% from three.
There isn't much behind the shooting. Orlando has been outscored by 43 points in five games and allows 118.4 a game, while Boston scores 120.8, third in the league, and has outscored opponents by 46. The Celtics also force 18.4 turnovers a game, third in the league, against a team averaging 17, with 20 in that Toronto loss. The Magic haven't won at home yet, falling 132-125 to Atlanta and 115-93 to Minnesota, both with Banchero. Robinson's status shouldn't hurt much, since Boston is plus-52 with Neemias Queta on the floor and minus-26 with Robinson.
At -110 the price implies 52.4%, and this isn't a clean number. Five games isn't much to go on. Boston has won by seven or more only twice, both against Chicago, and four of its five games were at home. Its one road game was a loss at Detroit, and it beat New York by four and Brooklyn by one. Projection models we checked have Boston by about four to six, short of the line. Boston has 67% of the spread bets and 61% of the money, so this is the popular side. Both teams are on the front end of a back-to-back, so rest could cost either team a player.
PICK #2: Paul George Over 4.5 Rebounds (-107)
George has 6, 7, 5, 7 and 5 rebounds in five starts, and only Jayson Tatum has more on the team. Easy wins haven't cost him the bet: he had five in 25 minutes and six in 27 against Chicago.
The longer record backs it up. He averaged 5.3 rebounds in 30.6 minutes last season and cleared 4.5 in 22 of 37 games, or 59.5%, against the 51.7% this price implies. He's playing the same 30.6 minutes now.
Boston needs the help on the glass. Robinson averages 4.6 rebounds, down from 8.8 last season, Queta averages 4.8, and the Celtics have lost the rebounding count in four of five games. Orlando, meanwhile, has missed 123 threes in five games and been out-rebounded 231-197. Long misses are the ones George can run down.
He has landed on exactly five twice, so a single rebound can decide this, and Wendell Carter Jr. averages 8.6 for Orlando. George is 36 and this is a back-to-back, though he isn't on the injury report and everyone played both ends of Boston's first back-to-back. He's played only five games, too.
