Arizona (3-5) visits Seattle (4-4), with kickoff at 4:25 PM ET. Sam Darnold is out with a quad injury, so Drew Lock makes his second start of the season on a right elbow that kept him inactive for the previous two games and limited him in practice all week. He is the projected starter, not a confirmed one. Arizona starts Gardner Minshew, who came off the bench to win 33-30 in overtime in Dallas. Seattle was a double-digit favorite before Darnold was ruled out. It is now -8.5 (-107), and the total has dropped from the mid-40s to 39.5 (-110 both ways), with 67% of the bets and 74% of the money on the Under.

The angle here is a narrow Seattle offense. Jaxon Smith-Njigba gets the ball, the backfield is split, and with left tackle Charles Cross and left guard Quenton Nelson out, the line in front of Lock is patched together. Arizona gives up 29.8 points a game, but even when Seattle beat the Cardinals 31-7 in Week 2, the rest of its skill players did very little. All three picks are Seattle Unders that cash if that pattern holds.

Cardinals vs. Seahawks Predictions

  • Pick #1: Jadarian Price Under 58.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
  • Pick #2: A.J. Barner Under 25.5 Receiving Yards (-116)
  • Pick #3: Cooper Kupp Under 2.5 Receptions (-101)

PICK #1: Jadarian Price Under 58.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Price hasn't reached 58 rushing yards in a game this season. The rookie ran for 52 yards on 10 carries against New England, 52 on 13 carries in the 31-7 win at Arizona, 15 on five carries at Washington and 29 on 10 carries against Chicago in his first game back from injured reserve. In that Arizona game Seattle led comfortably and Price got his most carries of the year, and he still stayed under.

He also has company now. Zach Charbonnet made his season debut against Chicago after tearing his ACL in last season's playoffs and took six carries. Seattle's depth chart lists Charbonnet first and Price second, and Charbonnet has another week of practice behind him. Mike Macdonald's take on the run game: "We need to be able to run the ball better; I think we can. The runners are a part of that." Price is also running behind a left side without Cross and Nelson, with Grey Zabel moving back to left guard and Anthony Bradford starting at right guard.

The -115 price implies 53.5%. The danger is Price taking the job outright. If he gets 15 or more carries, one long run could push him past this number.

PICK #2: A.J. Barner Under 25.5 Receiving Yards (-116)

Barner tops the tight end depth chart, but he has stayed under 25.5 receiving yards in six of eight games: 13, 8, 69, 12, 20, 16, 42 and 23. Both overs came with Darnold at quarterback. With Lock, he had 13 yards against New England and 8 at Arizona.

The volume goes to Smith-Njigba, who has 100 receiving yards in seven of eight games and 985 on the season, including 155 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 2 meeting. Then there's Lock's elbow. "He's able to throw. How much, we're working through that right now," Macdonald said after ruling Darnold out. Lock says he is "going at it like a normal week," but if Seattle trims his throws, the ones left figure to go to his top receiver.

At -116, the Under is priced at 53.7%. The check-down is the threat. A quarterback nursing his arm may throw short, and the tight end is the easy target. One catch-and-run would get Barner most of the way.

PICK #3: Cooper Kupp Under 2.5 Receptions (-101)

Kupp has caught two passes or fewer in six of eight games this season: 2, 2, 4, 1, 2, 5, 2 and 1. He had two in each of Lock's games. His two bigger days both came with Darnold throwing.

Rashid Shaheed is out with a knee injury, which on paper means more snaps for Kupp, who is still listed as a starter. Shaheed also missed the Chicago game, though, and Kupp caught one pass while Tory Horton caught three.

Kupp has cleared 2.5 catches only twice, and -101 implies 50.2%. The way this loses is Arizona taking Smith-Njigba away and forcing Lock to look elsewhere. Kupp needs only three catches, so there is little room.
