Odds as of 8:15 AM ET, Oct 31, 2026

South Carolina (4-3, 2-3 SEC) visits Oklahoma (4-3, 2-2) at 4:15 PM ET at Memorial Stadium on SEC Network. We expect a close game decided through the air. Oklahoma can't run well enough to avoid throwing at a soft South Carolina secondary, and if that works, South Carolina has to throw to keep pace. All three picks are passing yards in that game, from the two quarterbacks and Oklahoma's top receiver.

Oklahoma is -3.5 with a total of 44.5. The Sooners average 105.6 rushing yards, last in the SEC, and the Gamecocks allow 222.7 passing yards a game. Neither quarterback is on the latest SEC availability report. The forecast near kickoff is upper 60s with wind around 5 mph and about a 30% chance of a shower, which shouldn't slow either passing game much.

South Carolina vs. Oklahoma Predictions

  • Pick #1: Isaiah Sategna 70+ Receiving Yards (-157)
  • Pick #2: John Mateer 230+ Passing Yards (-137)
  • Pick #3: LaNorris Sellers 180+ Passing Yards (-160)

PICK #1: Isaiah Sategna 70+ Receiving Yards (-157)

Sategna caught eight of Mateer's 22 completions for a career-high 164 yards at Mississippi State, with a 36-yard touchdown and a 54-yard catch. He has eight catches in three of his last four games, and with Elijah Thomas and Trell Harris both Out, the receiver room isn't getting any deeper around him.

He has 70 or more in 4 of his last 5 (164, 83, 64, 81, 101) and 5 of 7 this season. That beats the 61.1% implied by -157. Last year's record of 7 of 13 doesn't, so this leans on his current role and on South Carolina, which has allowed 258, 365, 272 and 267 passing yards in four of its last five games. The exception was 136 to a Tennessee team that ran 50 times. Starting nickel Quay'sheed Scott is Out after missing the last two games, and the Gamecocks have just four interceptions.

Dylan Stewart is the problem. He has three forced fumbles in his last two games, and Oklahoma's right tackle is the spot he'll attack. The Texas game shows what a quiet day looks like: Mateer threw for 155 and Sategna had 64. Oklahoma also ran for 184 at Mississippi State, and more of that would mean fewer targets.

PICK #2: John Mateer 230+ Passing Yards (-137)

South Carolina has given up 8.4 yards per pass attempt over its last five games, and Mateer has averaged 30.8 attempts over his last five. Even at his own 7.6 yards an attempt, that volume gets him to about 235.

Those five games read 283, 270, 155, 231 and 238, so he's cleared this in four of them. Add 225 against UTEP and 189 at Michigan and he's 4 of 7 this season, a shade under the 57.8% implied by -137, so we're betting on the matchup and the protection more than the record. Left tackle Michael Fasusi returned at Mississippi State, where Mateer went 22-of-29 with no interceptions, and guard Heath Ozaeta is off the report. Center Jake Maikkula is Questionable, and Caleb Nitta finished that game in his place.

There isn't much cushion, with two of those four clears at 231 and 238. Mateer also has seven interceptions, three of them against Kentucky, and a bad turnover day can cost him drives. In last year's meeting he threw for 150 on 26 attempts in a game Oklahoma won 26-7. This pick wants the game close deep into the second half, as a -3.5 line suggests.

PICK #3: LaNorris Sellers 180+ Passing Yards (-160)

Oklahoma ranks eighth nationally at 151.3 passing yards allowed, but much of that is how little teams have thrown at it. Its last five opponents averaged 27 attempts at about 6.6 yards each. Sellers has averaged 34.6 attempts over his last five games, and 30 throws at that rate is about 199 yards.

He's had 180 or more in all five (210, 279, 226, 185, 282) and 6 of 7 this season, with the miss a 96-yard day in a 45-9 win over Towson. Last year he was 7 of 12, below the 61.5% implied by -160, but he reached 30 attempts in only four of those 12 games and has done it in each of the last five. Oklahoma's secondary is thin, too: Dakoda Fields and Jacobe Johnson are Out, Eli Bowen is Doubtful and Peyton Bowen is Probable. If Mateer is moving the ball, Sellers has to keep answering.

This is still a good defense. Only Texas (260) and Mississippi State (186) reached 180 against Oklahoma in its last five. The Sooners average 3.1 sacks, South Carolina's line is missing Josiah Thompson, Dayne Arnett and Seth Smith, and in last year's meeting Sellers threw for 124 on 25 attempts and took six sacks. He can also do his damage on the ground, with 49 carries for 263 yards over his last three games.
