Timberwolves vs. Spurs Prediction, NBA Odds & Best Bets (10/31)

Fact checked at 9:41 AM ET, Oct 31, 2026
Odds as of 8:16 AM ET, Oct 31, 2026
The Timberwolves (4-2) visit the Spurs (3-2) at Frost Bank Center for an 8:00 PM ET tip on local broadcasts and NBA League Pass. We expect San Antonio's starters to control this one. The Spurs have had two days off, while Minnesota is playing its third game in four nights and still working out life without Anthony Edwards. We're on De'Aaron Fox setting the table and Victor Wembanyama guarding the rim.
Edwards scored 133 points in four games before right knee surgery that could cost him up to two months. Minnesota is 1-1 since, losing 119-114 to Golden State and beating the Clippers 127-101 last night. Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo (right Achilles) are expected to sit. Tobias Harris and Jayden Quaintance are out for San Antonio; Fox and Wembanyama aren't on the report and are expected to start. The Spurs are 12.5-point favorites at -105, up a point since the line opened at 11.5, and the total is 226.5 or 227.5 depending on the book.
Timberwolves vs. Spurs Predictions
- Pick #1: De'Aaron Fox Over 5.5 Assists (-136)
- Pick #2: Victor Wembanyama Over 4.5 Steals + Blocks (+102)
PICK #1: De'Aaron Fox Over 5.5 Assists (-136)
Minnesota is on the second night of a back-to-back with two guards out, Edwards and DiVincenzo, and Fox has run the same starting five in all five Spurs games. He leads the team at 7.0 assists a game and has six or more in four of those five starts: 4, 6, 9, 9 and 7, newest first. A big lead shouldn't sink him, since he had six in 26 minutes of the 130-103 win over Sacramento and nine in 28 minutes at Dallas.
The -136 implies 57.6%, five games doesn't prove much, and last season he cleared 5.5 in 40 of 72 regular-season games, or 55.6%. We'd pay a little over that rate for this spot.
The Spurs do share the ball. Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper each had eight in the overtime win at Utah, when Fox had four in 39 minutes. Minnesota has allowed just 106.7 points a game over six games, four of them with Edwards, and Fox got to six in only two of six games against the Timberwolves in last spring's playoff series, which the Spurs won 4-2.
PICK #2: Victor Wembanyama Over 4.5 Steals + Blocks (+102)
The +102 implies only 49.5%, and Wembanyama's steals and blocks have gone 5, 7, 5, 2 and 7 in five starts, newest first. He has 19 blocks already, 3.8 a night and up from 3.1 last season. The seven against Sacramento came in 27 minutes, so a comfortable Spurs win doesn't have to cost him.
Minnesota gives him chances. The Timberwolves have scored 46 or more points in the paint in each of their last five games, including 62 against the Clippers, and they turn it over 16.2 times a game, with LaMelo Ball at 3.5. They did keep it to 12 against the Clippers.
His longer record is less flattering. He reached five in 25 of 64 regular-season games last season, or 39.1%, though he did it in 10 of his last 20 and 11 of 22 in the playoffs. Against Minnesota in that series it was two of six, one of them the playoff-record 12-block opener, and Julius Randle and Naz Reid are no longer on the Timberwolves.
Two of his four Overs this season were exactly five, and Houston held him to two with no steals in 32 minutes. The Under is -136, so the market leans the other way. Foul trouble would hurt, as would a Minnesota team living outside: Ball took 15 threes against the Clippers.
