Northwestern vs. Oregon Prediction, CFB Week 9 Odds & Best Bets (10/31)

Fact checked at 9:41 AM ET, Oct 31, 2026
Odds as of 8:15 AM ET, Oct 31, 2026
Northwestern (6-1, 3-1 Big Ten), tied at No. 20 in the AP poll, visits Oregon (4-3, 2-2) at 3:30 PM ET at Autzen Stadium on Peacock. We expect a close game with touchdowns on the ground from both sides. Northwestern's touchdowns come through Aidan Chiles and Caleb Komolafe, Oregon's few come through Jordon Davison, and all three picks follow from that.
Oregon has scored 15, 17 and 10 points without Dante Moore, who is Out. Jay Johnson now calls the plays after Drew Mehringer was relieved, and Dylan Raiola is the reported starter, though the school hasn't said so. Oregon has been -3.5 since books posted this game after the Illinois loss, with Northwestern +3.5 (-110) and a total of 47.5. The forecast is mostly cloudy with a high near 53 and calm wind.
Northwestern vs. Oregon Predictions
- Pick #1: Aidan Chiles Anytime TD (+145)
- Pick #2: Caleb Komolafe Anytime TD (+140)
- Pick #3: Jordon Davison Anytime TD (-160)
PICK #1: Aidan Chiles Anytime TD (+145)
Chiles has run for a touchdown in all seven games he's played, nine in total, and +145 implies only a 40.8% chance. Seven games is a small record, but the yardage barely matters to it: he had 13 carries for no net yards at Indiana and 16 for 25 at Michigan State, and he scored in both. Five of his last six rushing touchdowns came from 7 yards or closer. The other was a 37-yarder against Rutgers.
Oregon allows 127.9 rushing yards a game and 3.7 a carry, so this is a real test, even with Illinois running for 225 against it (75 of them on one play). Only a touchdown Chiles scores himself counts, and with 12 passing touchdowns on the year, a day through the air would leave this short.
PICK #2: Caleb Komolafe Anytime TD (+140)
At +140 the implied chance is 41.7%, and Komolafe has scored in 4 of his last 5 games and 5 of 7 this season. Chiles has taken most of the short ones, while Komolafe has scored from 14, 10 and 33 yards in his last three games. They have 14 of Northwestern's 17 rushing touchdowns between them.
He doesn't need a huge yardage day. Eight carries for 44 against Ball State and 15 for 67 against Michigan State both included a score, as did 25 for 188 against Penn State and 13 for 150 against Rutgers. Running back Daniel Anderson is Out, but he had only 3 carries in this five-game run.
The miss was 6 carries for 7 yards at Indiana, in the 29-23 loss. Joseph Himon II ran for 162 yards and two touchdowns against Penn State, and Gavin Sawchuk takes carries too. Offensive linemen Ezomo Oratokhai and Jacob Miller are Out.
PICK #3: Jordon Davison Anytime TD (-160)
Oregon's touchdowns should run through Davison. This is the steepest price of the three, implying 61.5%, and the longer record backs it. Davison has scored in 6 of 7 games this season and 10 of 14 last season, including a touchdown at Northwestern. That's 16 of 21 for his career, often on few carries.
Without Moore, Oregon has four touchdowns in three games and Davison has two of them, including the only one at Illinois, where he ran 14 times for 92 yards. Oregon gained 426 yards in that game and scored 10, and coach Dan Lanning said the team has to run the ball.
It's a tighter fit than the career number suggests. He missed in the 17-14 win over Nebraska with 12 carries for 29 yards, and Dierre Hill Jr. has 37 carries to his 39 in those three games. Evan Stewart, the leading receiver with four touchdown catches, is expected back. Northwestern has allowed 13, 14, 21 and 14 points during its four-game streak, and Lanning called the Wildcats "really stingy in the red area." Offensive linemen Trent Ferguson and Dave Iuli are Out.
