The Knicks visit the surprising Kings in what should be a fun matchup on TNT tonight at 10 p.m. The No. 5 seed Knicks recently had their 10-game winning streak snapped (by the Hornets) and the Kings are shockingly the No. 2 seed in the West after tying Memphis’ record at 38-26.

Injuries

Jalen Brunson is questionable for the Knicks due a foot injury. It’s a big deal for the Knicks and would be the third straight missed game for Brunson if he can’t go. Immanuel Quickley has been filling in for him and has been on a tear of late, averaging 22 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 3.8 3-pointers in 33.8 minutes in his four March games.

Sacramento’s injury report is clean heading into tonight’s game.

Last Meeting

The teams previously met on Dec. 11 when the Knicks got a 112-99 win in New York. RJ Barrett led the Knicks with 27 points on 9-of-27 shooting and had nine rebounds, six assists, three steals, two blocks and two triples in one of his best games ever that night. Julius Randle also scored 27 points with eight rebounds, Brunson had 18 points and three assists, and Mitchell Robinson chipped in with 12 points, nine boards and two blocks.

Quickley came off the bench in that one and scored 12 points in 25 minutes, but is playing a much bigger role with the Knicks right now.

A balanced Kings attack was led by Domantas Sabonis’ 20 points and 12 rebounds, Keegan Murray had 18 points, Kevin Huerter scored 17 and Harrison Barnes scored 15 points in the loss. De’Aaron Fox didn’t play in that game.

Recent Play

Barrett led the Knicks with 27 in their weird loss to Charlotte on Tuesday and scored 29 in Sunday’s win over Boston. Prior to that he’d scored between 10 and 17 points in his prior three games. Randle has been a consistent beast all season, has a pair of 40-point games over the last couple weeks and is averaging 27.8 points and 8.5 rebounds in his four March games. Robinson is averaging 10.5 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks in March, and Josh Hart has been a key player on defense off the bench, averaging 7.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and a steal in March.

The Knicks somehow fell to the 21-win Hornets on Tuesday, snapping their 10-game winning streak that included wins against the Celtics (twice), Heat, Nets (twice), Pelicans, Wizards, Hawks and Jazz. The No. 5 Knicks are a game ahead of No. 6 Brooklyn and 2.5 games behind the No. 4 Cavaliers in the East.

The Kings have been led by a red-hot Huerter in their last two games and he’s averaging 24 points and 5.0 3-pointers on 65 percent shooting over his last three. Sabonis is at 22 points, 11.7 rebounds and 7.7 assists over his last three and De’Aaron Fox is expected back from a hamstring injury that caused him to miss his last game. Fox is averaging 32.8 points, 7.4 assists and 2.0 steals over his last five games. Harrison Barnes is also playing well, averaging 18 points and 4.7 rebounds over his last three games, while Murray has been struggling, scoring 9.0 points on 41.7 percent shooting in March. Trey Lyles has been providing a spark off the bench with 13 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 3-pointers over his last three games and while Malik Monk hasn’t done much lately, he did explode for a 45-point game on Feb. 24.

The Kings have won six of their last seven games and have tracked down Memphis for the No. 2 spot in the West. And with Ja Morant suspended indefinitely for Memphis, they might not look back. They’re also winning the Pacific Division.

The Knicks are 20-12 on the road this season and the Kings are 20-13 at home, so something’s got to give tonight. Top Oddscrowd bettor Rawluciano likes the Kings moneyline tonight and with Brunson’s availability in question and given how hot the Kings are at home, we expect them to light the beam again tonight.
