Hurricanes vs. Predators Prediction, NHL Odds & Best Bets (11/3)

Fact checked at 6:55 AM ET, Nov 3, 2026
Odds as of 6:47 AM ET, Nov 3, 2026
The Hurricanes (12-2-2) start a four-game road trip against the Predators (5-4-5) at Bridgestone Arena, with puck drop at 8:00 PM ET. We're betting on Carolina winning the way it has all season. Pyotr Kochetkov and the defense hold Nashville to a goal or two, and Carolina's hottest line does the scoring. All three picks cash in that game.
Kochetkov and Juuse Saros are the projected starters, and neither has been confirmed. Carolina is still without Jordan Staal (injured reserve, calf) and Taylor Hall (upper body), and both missed its last game too. Overtime rules for player props vary by book.
Hurricanes vs. Predators Predictions
- Pick #1: Hurricanes Moneyline (-192)
- Pick #2: Predators Team Total Under 2.5 (-110)
- Pick #3: Jackson Blake Over 0.5 Points (-150)
PICK #1: Hurricanes Moneyline (-192)
Carolina's +27 goal differential is the best in the league, and the road hasn't slowed it down: the Hurricanes are 7-1-1 away from home. Nashville is 4-3-2 at home and has been outscored 47-42. Carolina has won four straight, capped by a 7-0 win over Winnipeg, and it beat Nashville in both meetings last season, 6-3 at home and 4-1 in Nashville.
If the projected goalies start, the gap in net is wide. Kochetkov has won all 10 of his starts with a .929 save percentage and a 1.49 goals-against average. Saros is 3-3-4 with a .902.
Nobody's getting a discount at -192, which implies 65.8%, and the price has climbed since it opened at -180 at one major book. We'll still pay it for a team this far ahead at both ends of the ice. Nashville's special teams are the danger, fifth on the power play at 31.9% and fourth on the penalty kill at 88.9%. So is its knack for overtime: six of its 14 games have gone past regulation. If Carolina turns back to Brandon Bussi (2-2-2, .865), the case gets thinner.
PICK #2: Predators Team Total Under 2.5 (-110)
This is the defensive side of the same game. This one settles on regulation goals only. Carolina has held 11 of its 16 opponents to two goals or fewer in regulation, and Kochetkov has allowed 15 goals in his 10 starts.
Nashville's own record at this number is a coin flip. It scored two or fewer in regulation in 7 of its 14 games, 4 of 9 at home. Pool the two teams and you get 18 of 30, or 60%, against the 52.4% that -110 implies. Carolina also gave up four goals total in last season's two meetings.
The power play can sink this on its own. Nashville converts 31.9% of its chances, and Steven Stamkos already has four power-play goals, so a few Carolina penalties would hurt. This pick also leans on Kochetkov more than the moneyline does. With Bussi in net, most of the case is gone.
PICK #3: Jackson Blake Over 0.5 Points (-150)
Blake has a point in each of his last six games and 16 points in 16 games, with at least one in 12 of them. That's 75% against the 60% that -150 implies. In Carolina's last game he skated with Logan Stankoven, the team leader with 10 goals, and Nikolaj Ehlers. He was also on the top power-play unit with Sebastian Aho, Ehlers, Andrei Svechnikov and Shayne Gostisbehere.
Sixteen games is a small sample, and last season is a reason for caution: he had a point in 41 of 81 games, about 51%. His role has changed since then. He already has five power-play points, after 12 all of last season, and he's playing almost 18 minutes a night against a career average of 15:26. He also had five points in last season's two games against Nashville.
He has been held off the scoresheet in four of 16 games. Carolina hasn't posted tonight's lines, so this assumes he stays with Stankoven and Ehlers and on the top power-play unit. Nashville's penalty kill, fourth in the league, makes the power-play route tougher.
