What is Correct Score Betting?
A bet on the correct score is exactly what it sounds like. You’re wagering on what you think the final score will be. These bets are very rare in games of basketball and football, as there are a lot of variables at play, but they are common in soccer and ice hockey markets.
An Example of a Correct Score Bet?
Soccer is one of the most common sports for correct score betting. You will typically see three different columns: Home Team, Tie, and Away Team.
They will often look like this:
- Home Column: 1-0, 2-0, 2-1
- Tie Column: 0-0, 1-1, 2-2
- Away Column: 0-1, 0-2, 1-2
If Team A is playing Team B at Team A’s stadium, Team A is the home team.
The sportsbook always lists the home team first, so this is another way of understanding which score references which team.
NFL is also a common Correct Score League. But they generally work on different margins instead of exact scores.
Is a Correct Score a Good Bet to Make?
If you have a good idea of how the game will go, it’s a great bet to make.
You can usually get high odds for a correct score bet, especially if you’re betting on an unlikely outcome, such as a tie/lose for the overwhelming favorite.
Of course, it’s also a risky bet. If there is just one goal/point either way, your wager will lose.
How to Bet on Correct Score with FanDuel Sportsbook
Click “More Wagers” on your chosen game and look for the Correct Score bet line. Choose one of the options in the tab to add to your slip. Open your bet slip when ready to set your stake and confirm your bet.
How to Bet on Correct Score with Caesars Sportsbook
Click your chosen game to expand the betting lines. We found a little hard to locate. So the easiest way is to use the search function and type “Correct Score” and click your preferred option. The bet will be added to your bet slip where you can place a single or parlay wager.
How to Bet on Correct Score with DraftKings Sportsbook
Click the name of the teams to expand the betting line options. Find the Correct Score option under the “Game Props” tab. They have it neatly laid out with the Team 1 win, Tie and Team 2 options. Click your bet to add it to the slip, and then set your stake and confirm. Please note, you can also find it at the bottom of the ‘Popular’ tab.
How to Bet on Correct Score with PointsBet
Use the options in the sidebar to select your sport and the links in the middle to choose your game. Find “Correct Score”, set the total amount, and add it to your slip. From there, you can set your wager and place the bet.
How to Bet on Correct Score with BetMGM
Click your chosen game to expand the betting lines. Scroll down and find your bets listed under Correct Score or Multiple Correct Score. These bets are available on most soccer and hockey games, but rarely on other big sports. Add to your slip and bet.
