Odds as of 8:29 AM ET, Oct 28, 2026

Washington visits Rocket Arena at 2-2, and Cleveland is 2-1. Tip-off is 7:00 PM ET. Cleveland is a 9.5-point favorite (-110), the same number it opened at, and the total has moved from 238.5 to 239.5. The Cavaliers have won both home games but haven't covered in any of their three, and the defense is why: they allowed 114 points at Philadelphia, 121 to Brooklyn and 125 in an overtime win over Minnesota, an average of 120.

Our read is that Cleveland wins without shutting Washington down, and that the Wizards' points come from the two perimeter starters who have carried their offense so far. Trae Young has played 34 to 38 minutes every night with 9 to 13 assists, and Kyshawn George has started all four games. Washington's team total is 114.5 (Over -110). If the Wizards score somewhere near that, both picks have a clear path.

Washington is without Justin Champagnie (right foot), Tristan Vukcevic (hip) and Jamir Watkins (knee) on the latest official injury report. No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa is questionable with a left ankle sprain and hasn't played yet this season. Cleveland lists only Nae'Qwan Tomlin (low back), who hasn't played this season, and two G League players.

Wizards vs. Cavaliers Predictions

  • Pick #1: Trae Young Over 20.5 Points (-123)
  • Pick #2: Kyshawn George Over 13.5 Points (-119)

PICK #1: Trae Young Over 20.5 Points (-123)

Washington's offense runs through Young, and his minutes show it: 38, 37, 34 and 38. He has scored 20, 22, 25 and 22 points, so his only miss at this number came by half a point in the opener against Milwaukee, a 4-of-13 shooting night. He is averaging 22.3 points and 11 assists, and he still got to 22 in Charlotte, on 10-of-20 shooting, in a game Washington lost by seven.

That's only four games, and his longer record is messier. He averaged 24.2 points over 76 games two seasons ago. Last season was cut to 15 games by injury, and he averaged 17.9 points in 25.6 minutes. That was a smaller role than the one he has now. At -123, the implied probability is 55.2%, and we are betting on the workload and his share of the shots more than the four-game record.

Cleveland has given up 120 a game, and that is the matchup we like for him. The danger is a lopsided score. If the Cavaliers build a big lead as 9.5-point favorites, Young could sit for part of the fourth quarter. A Dybantsa debut would also put another scorer in the starting group.

PICK #2: Kyshawn George Over 13.5 Points (-119)

This line asks George for roughly his normal night. He averaged 14.8 points in 48 starts last season, and he has started all four games this year with 18, 11, 22 and 20 points. His two best games came after the Toronto loss: 22 points with nine rebounds and five assists at Chicago, then 20 on 8-of-14 shooting in Charlotte.

He has played 29, 26, 36 and 29 minutes. Cleveland has allowed at least 114 points in every game, and if Washington gets close to its 114.5 team total, George has a path to 14. At -119, the implied probability is 54.3%, and he has cleared 13.5 in three of four games.

Dybantsa is the risk here. He is questionable, and if he debuts, he would join George on the wing and take shots from the same group. The Toronto game shows what a miss looks like: 26 minutes, 2-of-9 shooting and 11 points. A Cleveland blowout that empties the benches early would hurt too. As long as Dybantsa sits, George keeps the role he has had in every game this season.
