Odds as of 5:39 AM ET, Oct 27, 2026
Two unbeaten teams meet at Crypto.com Arena, with tipoff at 11:00 PM ET. The Lakers are 3-0 and lead the league at 128 points per game over three games. They beat Golden State 127-105 and the Clippers 125-117 at home, then won 132-123 at Utah behind 52 points from Luka Doncic. Portland is 2-0 with Damian Lillard back from an Achilles injury and Ja Morant added to the backcourt. The Trail Blazers routed Phoenix 124-83 and won 128-120 at Sacramento, and their 101.5 points allowed per game is the second-fewest in the league, over just two games.
The Lakers are 2.5-point favorites (-113), down from 3.5 at the open, and the total is 236.5. Portland has Shaedon Sharpe out on the latest official injury report after right meniscus surgery, with Scoot Henderson (left ankle soreness) and Branden Carlson (concussion protocol) questionable. The Lakers list Cameron Carr (right oblique strain) and Adou Thiero (left knee) as out. Sharpe, Carr and Thiero haven't played this season. Starters haven't been announced, but the expected lineups are Lillard, Morant, Toumani Camara, Deni Avdija and Donovan Clingan for Portland and Doncic, Austin Reaves, Ziaire Williams, Matisse Thybulle and Walker Kessler for the Lakers. The Lakers play at the Clippers the next night, so this is the front end of a back-to-back. Portland comes in rested after its win in Sacramento.
We expect a quieter game than either team's start suggests. Portland's defense keeps the Lakers under their 128-point pace, Doncic lands back in the range of his first two games rather than putting up another 52, and the final total ends up in the 220s or low 230s. Both picks need that same game: the Under on the total, and Doncic under his points line.
Trail Blazers vs. Lakers Predictions
- Pick #1: Under 236.5 (-110)
- Pick #2: Luka Doncic Under 33.5 Points (-120)
PICK #1: Under 236.5 (-110)
Nothing either team has done so far beats Portland's defense. Phoenix scored 83 against it and Sacramento 120, an average of 101.5 over two games, and those two opponents shot 72-of-175 from the field (41.1%). The Lakers can win low, too. They held Golden State to 105 in the opener, and that game finished at 232.
One public projection model has the Lakers winning 116.1-112.8. That's 228.9 points, about eight short of this number. At -110 the Under implies 52.4%, and some books hang 237.5, which buys an Under bettor an extra point.
The risk is plain. These are the two highest-scoring teams in the league so far, the Lakers at 128 a game over three games and Portland at 126 over two. Three of the five games these teams have played went over 236.5 (242, 255 and 248), and two stayed under (232 and 207). The Lakers have allowed 115 a game over their three, Portland's defensive average leans heavily on the Phoenix rout, and overtime counts toward the total.
PICK #2: Luka Doncic Under 33.5 Points (-120)
Everyone saw the 52 at Utah. His other two games were 28 against Golden State and 23 against the Clippers, so he has stayed under 33.5 in two of his three.
He scored 28 against Golden State on 7-of-18 shooting, with 9-of-9 free throws, and played 30 minutes in a 22-point win. Against the Clippers he shot 8-of-21, turned it over 11 times and finished with 23. Utah was a chase. The Lakers trailed 47-29 after one quarter, and it took 17-of-30 shooting, eight threes and 10-of-11 free throws to get him to 52. He doesn't have to carry the scoring, either: Reaves has scored 23, 28 and 29, and Kessler had 26 and 22 in the first two games. Portland has started Lillard, Morant, Camara and Avdija in both of its games and given up 101.5 a game over those two.
The -120 price implies 54.5%. There's a real case the other way. He won last season's scoring title at 33.5 points a game, so this line sits right on his full-season average, and the 52 has him at 34.3 a game over three games this season. A tight game that needs him in the fourth quarter could push him past it.
