Clippers vs. Timberwolves Prediction, NBA Odds & Best Bets (10/30)

Fact checked at 7:46 AM ET, Oct 30, 2026
Odds as of 6:50 AM ET, Oct 30, 2026
The Clippers (1-3) visit the Timberwolves (3-2) at Target Center for an 8:00 PM ET tip-off, an NBA Cup group game. Anthony Edwards scored 133 points in Minnesota's first four games, then had a procedure on his right knee, and he's reported to be out up to two months. Donte DiVincenzo is out too. Los Angeles is without Bradley Beal, Brandon Ingram and Max Strus, and Rui Hachimura is questionable on the latest injury report. We see a low-scoring, ragged game that Minnesota can't pull away in, which points us to the Clippers with the points, the Under, and a rebound prop on a forward who should have plenty of misses to chase. Minnesota is -7.5 with a total of 223.5, with Edwards' absence already in both numbers.
Clippers vs. Timberwolves Predictions
- Pick #1: Clippers +7.5 (-111)
- Pick #2: Under 223.5 (-110)
- Pick #3: Jaden McDaniels Over 5.5 Rebounds (-101)
PICK #1: Clippers +7.5 (-111)
Minnesota has played once without Edwards, a 119-114 home loss to Golden State in which it trailed by 24 before rallying in the fourth quarter. Coach Chris Finch said his players were pressing to replace the scoring: "I thought everybody kind of launched a deep 3 on their first touch." LaMelo Ball shot 3 of 11 with six turnovers, and Finch's read on the defense was, "They're putting two on him." That offense is now laying 7.5.
Los Angeles lost its two road games by eight to the Lakers (125-117) and by seven at Oklahoma City (108-101), and it has covered this number in two of four games, a small sample. Two public projection models have Minnesota by 4.5 and by 6, both inside the number, though a model can trail roster news this soon after an injury. Books posted 7.5 after he had already missed the Golden State game, so his absence is in the number. The -111 price implies 52.6%.
Most books we checked still deal 7.5, but one has moved to 7 and another to 6.5, and the projections leave little room at 6.5. Shop for the hook.
Ball security could sink this. Los Angeles committed 24 turnovers in its home loss to the Lakers and 26 in each of the two games before that. The Clippers are also the popular side, with 69% of the bets and 80% of the money, and if Hachimura sits again they're down another starter.
PICK #2: Under 223.5 (-110)
The Clippers scored 87 in a 103-87 home loss to the Lakers, on 26-of-74 shooting, and their 106.5 points a game rank 29th of 30 through four games. Coach Tyronn Lue called the team "limited offensively (with the injuries)." Minnesota's 120.4 a game ranks fourth, but Edwards played in four of those five games and averaged 33.3.
Books posted the total at 222.5, it dipped to 221.5 on one line-tracking chart and it has come back to 223.5, so we're getting a better number than either. Bettors lean the other way, with 60% of the bets and 52% of the money on the Over. The same two models land at 222 and 222.9, so the edge is modest, and -110 implies 52.4%. Five of the two teams' nine games stayed under 223.5: three of four for Los Angeles and two of five for Minnesota.
Pace is the threat. Lue wants the Clippers playing up-tempo, and their turnovers can become easy points the other way. Minnesota's game without Edwards finished at 233, with Stephen Curry scoring 44, and a Hachimura return adds a scorer. A Minnesota win by seven or fewer in the 210s cashes this and the spread.
PICK #3: Jaden McDaniels Over 5.5 Rebounds (-101)
McDaniels has 7, 6, 6, 6 and 8 rebounds in his five games, most recent first, so he has cleared 5.5 every time. Five games is a small sample and the longer record is lower: he averaged 4.2 rebounds in 31.7 minutes last season, after 5.7 the year before. That's why the Under is the shorter price at -130, which implies 56.5%.
We think the roster explains the jump. Minnesota traded Julius Randle and Naz Reid in the offseason, and McDaniels is averaging 6.6 rebounds in 32.4 minutes, about the same floor time as last season. He has started all five games and played 29 to 37 minutes, including 35 in the game without Edwards, when he had 7 rebounds. The Clippers missed 48 of 74 shots in that home loss to the Lakers, and a lower-scoring game means more rebounds to go around. The -101 price implies 50.2%.
Three of the five games landed at exactly 6, so one fewer rebound in any of them loses. Fouls are a real risk too: he had six at Cleveland and five against Golden State. Rudy Gobert had 20 rebounds at Cleveland but played only 20 minutes against Golden State, when Joan Beringer had 10, and a full night from Gobert leaves fewer boards. Only one of the five games came without Edwards.
